Here at Action For Humanity, we have an exciting opportunity for a Grants Intern to join our team based in our new office in Istanbul, Turkiye. You will support the Country Director with establishing the grants infrastructure in the new office. You will embark on a journey of learning about grants and financial resources mobilization, and you will assist in reaching out to potential donors and partners, increasing the organization’s visibility with potential donors, and helping in ensuring sustainable funding for the organization

The Grants Intern will be responsible to:

  • Monitor new call for proposals, review the published ones, identify the organization’s eligibility, and coordinate the submission process ensuring applying best practices to submit winning proposal.
  • Assist in managing the development and preparation of expressions of interest, concept notes, projects proposals and other related documents.
  • Help in presenting the organization’s projects and resource mobilization proposals to targeted donors and partners.
  • Work closely with the Country Director to identify funding gaps and prioritize institutional funding needs.
  • Participate in producing written and visual materials to be presented to donors and other stakeholders during meetings or relationship building.
  • Follow-up on the execution of the grants and funding plans in coordination with all related stakeholders to secure funding sustainability.
  • Ensure that all tasks are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as may be required by the Country Director

What we are looking for in our Grants Intern:

Education

Bachelor’s degree completed or current student in Management, Business or a related field.

Experience

  • Interest in humanitarian sector
  • Working/volunteering for an NGO desirable

Skills

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work autonomously under minimal supervision
  • IT, including MS Outlook, MS Office including Excel and Teams, web browsers, Whatsapp

Languages

  • Strong written and spoken English essential
  • Other languages including Turkish and Arabic a bonus
