Who we are?

IDA is an international independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
IDA was founded in 2012 by Syrian doctors from Aleppo in response to the healthcare and humanitarian crisis in Syria.

IDA Syria is the main healthcare provider in the Northern Aleppo/Syria area, working closely with 500,000 IDPs and 700,000 host communities through 20 healthcare facilities and other health and nutrition projects

During last year, IDA has provided 1.2 million services in Heath, Nutrition, WaSH and Camp Management

Responsibilities:

As the Grants and Reporting Senior Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the grants, proposals, and reporting processes for IDA’s health-focused programs. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient grants management, compliance with donor requirements, and the timely delivery of high-quality reports. This position is pivotal in supporting IDA’s mission and maintaining strong relationships with funding partners.

Specific responsibilities:

  1. Grants Management:

    • Oversee all aspects of grant management, including proposal development, budgeting, and compliance with donor guidelines.
    • Coordinate the submission of grant applications, ensuring they are submitted accurately and on time.
    • Establish and maintain a comprehensive grants management system.
    • Set up the monthly reporting plan with sufficient internal deadlines.
    • Set up the schedule of grants review meetings, lead and facilitate the invitations and meetings on a regular basis according to IDA policies and procedures.
    • Regular quarterly update about grants matrix, potential gaps, and initiatives of business development.
    • Biweekly reports to the direct supervisor, the head of programs.
  2. Proposal Development:

    • Collaborate with program teams to prepare high-quality grant proposals, ensuring alignment with donor priorities.
    • Develop persuasive narratives and budgets that effectively communicate the organization’s mission and goals.
  3. Donor Relations:

    • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with existing and potential donors, including government agencies, foundations, and private sector partners.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for donors in matters related to grants and reporting.
  4. Reporting and Compliance:

    • Develop and manage a reporting schedule to ensure timely submission of narrative and financial reports to donors.
    • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and guidelines for all reports.
    • Coordinate with program teams to collect data and success stories for reporting purposes.
  5. Budget Oversight:

    • Monitor grant budgets to ensure spending aligns with grant agreements.
    • Conduct financial analysis and projections to support grant decision-making.
  6. Capacity Building:

    • Provide training and capacity-building support to program staff and partners to enhance their understanding of grant management and reporting.
  7. Risk Management:

    • Identify potential risks related to grant management and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant legal and financial regulations.

Competencies:

Generic professional competencies for this position:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Public Health, Business Administration).
  • Minimum of [5] years of experience in grants management, proposal development, and donor relations within the NGO sector.
  • Strong understanding of the grant lifecycle, from application to closeout, and donor compliance.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budget management, and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives for grant proposals and reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with health-related projects is a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for grant management.
  • Native English speakers are highly recommended to apply, Arabic language is an advantage.
