The Opportunity

Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Global Web Analystin London or any existing Save the Children International office location.

ROLE PURPOSE:

Save the Children is in the middle of its ambitious 2019 – 2021 strategic plan that looks to significantly increase our digital engagement with new and existing supporters to achieve our programmatic and advocacy goals.

Both raising funds and engaging with our supporters through campaigning in digital channels are key to delivering to the strategy.

This role sits within the Digital Public Engagement Team, an agile team, already working virtually before the pandemic, which provides strategic support and specialist technical guidance to our 27+ Members, most of them in Asia, Oceania, Europe and the Americas. This team also focuses on reaching out to new audiences and engaging with them in non-member markets with a special focus on a list of key markets.

As a Global Web Analyst at our organization, you will be responsible for leading the development of and managing global analytics platforms, tracking and reporting in order to scale and optimize fundraising and engagement campaigns across non-member markets, as well as supporting our member offices in this process.

In coordination with other International Digital Specialists, the post is responsible for:

  • Driving web analytics across global digital platforms at SCI, including ensuring our website and channel tracking is implemented correctly. This involves managing GTM and Google Analytics setup, leading a transition to Google Analytics 4, coordinating a system for UTM tracking, and resolving tracking issues on channels such as Facebook and Google Ads.
  • Leading on reporting for global digital channels at SCI, including using tools like Google Analytics and Data Studio to produce regular website reports, and monitoring performance from channels such as Facebook Ads, Google Search, YouTube Ads, Email marketing, and organic social media. This will also involve using this data to provide insights, recommendations and identify new opportunities to improve our digital performance.
  • Analysing and monitoring global Search trends, and providing actionable recommendations to enhance SEO performance on our international website.
  • Supporting our member offices in implementing and managing their own digital analytics tracking and reporting, including conducting technical audits and making recommendations to ensure the correct reporting processes and systems are in place.
  • Developing and leading a global community of analytics practitioners in Member offices.
  • Building additional support to Members by developing skillsharing sessions and toolkits to build analytics knowledge and capacity across the organisation.
  • Working with our Market Intelligence team and other digital specialists to develop and produce annual global digital benchmark reports to gather fundraising and engagement data in Member markets.
  • Leading on impact reports for global moments and campaigns. This includes ensuring the relevant tracking, reporting templates and processes are in place to attain data across both Member and non-Member markets.
  • Acting as primary consultant and point of contact for developing sustainable solutions to mitigate legal and technical changes to data privacy and tracking. This could include implementing Google Analytics 4, as well as Facebook’s pixel and Conversion API in Member and Non-Member markets.
  • Horizon-scanning and identifying new opportunities and innovation relating to analytics and reporting.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder may be expected to work outside the normal job description and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

This role will involve the opportunity to travel for to participate in in-person team meetings and to support member offices.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

  • At least 3 years’ expertise in Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics,
  • Comprehensive knowledge SEM and SEO strategies, including experience using Google Search Console and monitoring search trends and ranking behaviour to optimise website content.
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering reporting and working collaboratively with digital marketers, fundraisers and/or campaigners to provide high quality actionable insight, informed by campaign results and analysis.
  • Strong analytical solutions oriented skills
  • Fluent in English, additional language skills would be an asset
  • Capacity to build and maintain excellent relations and to work effectively in a multicultural and multi-ethnic environment respecting diversity
  • Self-starter with experience working home-based

Desirable

  • Experience with CRMs, Facebook, Google Ads, email marketing platforms and their metrics.
  • Knowledge of data gathering, cleaning and transforming data, plus experience with data QA and troubleshooting.
  • Experience using major web content management systems including Drupal.
  • Ideally, knowledge of Power BI or similar tools, as well as transforming large data sets into digestible data reports.
  • Ideally, experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and/or jQuery.
  • Experience working internationally in a support role to a diverse range of markets
  • Ideally, experience working in the INGO sector.
  • Experience in cloud-based CRM solutions a plus (Salesforce, Hubspot, etc).
  • Proven project management skills delivering complex projects on time and on budget with a strong knowledge of all the financial aspects of digital fundraising/marketing including analysis of costs/income, ROI, conversion and donor/client retention data and all other relevant KPIs.
  • Strong personal, organisational and self-management skills; with an ability to lead and work in teams and motivate others
  • A self-starter using initiative to see opportunities to achieve objectives in this role
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong IT skills particularly in Microsoft products
  • Ability to articulate the work of Save the Children with passion
  • A willingness to travel to support members directly or to relevant events as required.

We can offer circa £48,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.

This role can be based in London or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
