The Opportunity

Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Change Manager – Organisation Design in London or any existing Save the Children International office location.

ROLE PURPOSE:

SCI is currently facing a number of external pressures that require us to look at our structure and ways of working and determine the changes we need to make in order to remain relevant as we move into 2022 and beyond. As part of this, The Technical Expertise (TE) Transformation Project aims to ensure we have the right technical expertise in the right places around the world. We believe that Technical Experts are critical for achieving our breakthroughs for children. We currently have Technical Experts sitting in member organizations around the world and we are looking at how we can organize this expertise in the most effective way.

The Change Manager – Organisation Design role sits within the Global Architecture Workstream, which is looking at the organisational architecture for Save the Children’s global TE’s in both a humanitarian and development context. In 2022, the Global Architecture Workstream will progress six sub-workstreams. These include implementing One Humanitarian Technical Team (OHT) and building cross-functional strategic goal teams.

This role will work closely with stakeholders from across the movement to contribute to the design of specific elements of the architecture and gain buy in for the change. As part of this design, the role holder will work on process design, organizational structure design, change management and implementation planning. It is essential that the Change Manager – Organisation Design has strong people skills and good attention to detail.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

  • 3-5 years of strategy, change management or consulting experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate/mediate; to facilitate the resolution of conflicting business requirements
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of business complexity and project interdependencies
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas
  • Proven experience in facilitating productive workshops, preferably in multi-cultural contexts
  • Ability to effectively prioritise work and agree priorities
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and able to take the initiative and ownership to deliver value to the business
  • Cultural awareness and experience of delivering solutions internationally
  • Demonstrable ability to challenge the user-friendliness of set up, requirements and design for implementation and regular usage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Engaging as well as assertive, influencing and negotiating
  • True passion for results, responsibility and proactivity
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English
  • Competent in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desirable

  • Experience of Organisational Design
  • INGO experience
  • A second language. Preferably French, Spanish or Arabic.

We can offer circa £43,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.

This role can be based in London or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
