JOB PURPOSE

This position plays a crucial role in the effective engagement and development of Amnesty International’s supporters and members in countries where Amnesty doesn’t have a formal national presence. The role is responsible for delivering plans and activities designed to grow, retain and develop supporters, and facilitate the planning of engagement plans to ensure international members are engaged in local, regional and global human rights issues.

ABOUT YOU

As an experienced digital marketer, you will have knowledge of producing content for HTML emails, both in English and at least one of Amnesty’s core languages. You will be able to analyse data and produce reports for digital engagement, using this data to propose strategies to increase the engagement of audiences around the world.

Experience of working in non-profit is desirable, particularly in campaigning and fundraising.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To help grow and develop new and existing global online audiences and increase their engagement and participation in Amnesty’s global campaigns and activities;
  • To design and deliver global supporter engagement plans on a range of global campaigns, and to support regular joint planning with regional colleagues to maintain a global calendar of engagement plans and ensure supporters are receiving consistent and cohesive activities from Amnesty
  • To write and produce compelling human rights content, that inspires, empowers and mobilizes our audiences to get involved in our global campaigns and activities, primarily for HTML emails, but also for other content types when applicable (such as events presentation, video scripts, or other digital assets);
  • To set up mass-mailing campaigns, by developing clear engagement and segmentation strategies, templating HTML emails, commissioning translations, proofreading content, adhering to quality and assurance processes; and monitoring engagement, analysing data, producing reports and evaluating projects;
  • To set up and review automated email journeys that provide supporters with relevant information and activities;
  • To improve practice and promote innovation and intelligent risk-taking to ensure our supporters are engaged and developed. This includes identifying and leading on pilot engagement projects featuring innovative ways to engage and retain our audiences and making use of tech and digital tools and platforms effectively, with a focus on campaigning participation;

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Significant proven experience of digital marketing with expertise in email marketing;
  • Excellent written communication skills in English, and proficiency in at least one of Amnesty’s core languages Arabic, Spanish and French;
  • Experience in digital content creation, including copywriting for digital, namely for HTML emails;
  • Experience in mass-mailing and CRM tools, preferable Engaging Networks;
  • Demonstrated expertise in audience segmentation, split testing and response analysis and optimisation for email;
  • Experience in analysing data and producing and sharing reports for digital engagement that not only include the relevant figures and data insights but that clearly tell a story and illustrate the engagement and conversion funnel;
