Job Purpose:

OB is seeking a Gender specialist as a service provider to :

1- provide assistance in reviewing & developing the gender equality/equity/ justice policy

2- Advise to assure Gender mainstreaming to other procedures

3- Review the Empowerment by ensuring full integration of gender issues in performance monitoring, evaluation, learning mechanisms to ensure full integration of gender issues in performance and activities .

Responsibilities:

OB seeks a Gender Specialist, whose responsibilities might include, but not limited to:

  • Provide recommendations and suggestions for gender policy and other policies of Olive Branch Organization
  • Set mechanisms to ensure the Gender policy & procedures are applied throughout activities
  • Strategize methods to monitor instances of gender disparities and gender-based violence (GBV)
  • Document successful practices and methodologies for gender integration
  • Advise on gender mainstreaming through the activities of OB
  • Other tasks contributing to meeting gender equity targets and goals
  • Provide direct technical assistance and guidance on gender balance empowerment in OB orgainization.
  • Support the development of tools, systems, processes and approaches that continuously improve the gender balance.
  • Conduct gender analyses, effectiveness and efficacy analysis, evaluation and needs assessments as required for OB.
  • Support OB staff to understand the role of gender equality.

Qualifications may include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, development studies, gender, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working on gender issues.
  • Demonstrated experience with gender integration in development programming.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills required.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, both verbal and written, required.
  • Turkish nationality.
