It aims to increase civic spaces to play an active role in peace processes and early recovery of communities by empowering, protecting, and building community capacities, as well as enhancing the leadership role of women and marginalized groups, to achieve communities that embrace the principle of democracy and human rights.

Job purpose

SYCAC is seeking for fundraising officer,

who will be responsible for developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies, identifying potential new funding sources and opportunities, initiating relationships with potential donors, and building good relationships with prospective donors,

in addition to performing any other tasks within his/her competence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute fundraising campaigns from start to finish, coordinating various aspects such as creating compelling campaign content, selecting appropriate communication channels, and monitoring progress toward fundraising goals.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop comprehensive strategies for fundraising campaigns, including identifying target audiences, setting fundraising goals, and outlining key messages.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential donors, supporters, and sponsors.
  • Cultivate a network of individuals, organizations, and businesses interested in contributing to our campaigns.
  • Craft persuasive fundraising messages that resonate with different donor segments.
  • Develop written materials, including emails, social media posts, and campaign materials.
  • Organize fundraising events, both online and offline, to engage the community and donors, This includes coordinating logistics, inviting participants, and ensuring the smooth execution of events.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of donors, donations, and fundraising activities.
  • Utilize fundraising software or platforms to track donor interactions and campaign progress.
  • Generate regular reports on fundraising campaign performance, analyzing outcomes and identifying areas for improvement, and Use data insights to refine strategies and approaches.
  • Collaborate with other team members, to integrate fundraising efforts with the overall organizational strategy.
  • Implement donor stewardship initiatives to ensure ongoing engagement and retention.
  • Express gratitude to donors through personalized thank-you messages and updates on the impact of their donations.
  • Adherence to the policies and procedures followed by SYCAC in all operations.
  • Commitment to the Code of Conduct, child protection, and prevention of sexual exploitation and harassment.
  • Commitment to executing any other related tasks in coordination with the direct manager.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Marketing, Communication).
  • Excellent knowledge of rules and procedures on online donation collection.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, or a related field within the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey the organization’s mission and fundraising goals.
  • Experience with fundraising software or platforms is an essential requirement.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop innovative fundraising approaches.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple campaigns and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Three years of experience in electronic donations collection within the nonprofit sector.
  • Proficient in utilizing electronic fundraising platforms for effective donation collection.
  • Three years of experience in digital marketing within the context of non-profit organizations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Fluency English.
