Leading Financial Services Firm headquartered Northeast of Atlanta (Interstate 85 North) has an immediate needs for an experienced Financial Reporting Manager. The External Reporting Manager participates in the preparation of the Company’s external private debt offering financial statements, variance analysis, supporting schedules, and footnotes in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This position will collaborate with various team members in the Finance department and other departments to ensure that all required information is provided as necessary to support the external reporting requirements and quarterly processes.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Participate in maintaining an efficient closing/consolidation process which meets the reporting needs of all organizational levels
  • Responsible for working closely with various other departments in determining and meeting reporting requirements and deadlines and to ensure completeness and accuracy of the documentation of accounting matters
  • Partners with leaders within the accounting department to complete annual and interim audits performed by external auditors
  • Creates and/or improves the accounting and reporting processes; recommends enhancements or improvements to improve effectiveness of reporting team.
  • Leads in ensuring compliance with and determining impact of U.S. GAAP requirements for proper financial statement presentation and disclosure reporting
  • Research technical accounting issues and documents, and leads implementation of new policies and procedures
  • Participates in the establishment, documentation, and maintenance of company accounting policies.
  • Keeps up to date on new innovative accounting reporting tools that could help improve the reporting process
  • Support affiliate personnel with various adhoc requests
  • Other duties as assigned

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA
  • 4 – 6 years of experience working in external or internal financial reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (SUMIF, Pivot Tables, Vlookups)
  • Strong work ethic and exhibits a “sense of urgency”
  • Self-motivated
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detailed information
  • Ability to coordinate multiple conflicting priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to cooperate in a team environment is critical

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in NetSuite ERP and Adaptive Insights or similar software
  • 2 – 4 years accounting experience at a public accounting firm with financial services clients or industry experience in financial services
  • Familiarity with BI tools (Adaptive Insights and QlikView used in house)
