About RI Surge Interim Positions.

We are currently accepting applications for Relief International’s Surge Roster for short-term assignments (varying from weeks to months) to manage periods of emergency and transition within Relief International.

Position Summary.

The Finance Officer will support the finance team with administrative tasks, financial systems and day to day operations of the Country Program in which they are situated. In particular, the Finance Officer will support with accounting and documenting all financial transactions for the country program, whilst ensuring that RI accounting procedures are followed; that cash is controlled, accounted for in a timely manner in accordance with RI, donor and audit requirements; ensuring accurate cost allocation to multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities and Duties.

  • Admin tasks such as tracking and monitoring of procurements and expenditures, maintains an office purchasing, inventory, and requisition system.
  • Coordinates compiling of monthly financial reports including in-kind commodity income and disbursements for submission to the International Finance Controller and Country Director.
  • Works closely with the Country Director and Program Managers to monitor the project budget.
  • Assists project coordinators in ensuring compliance with RI procurements and field accounting policies and procedures, compliance with donor agreement and audit requirements.
  • Works closely with project coordinators over the project implementation planning and cash flow projections.
  • Prepares donor reports.
  • Support with budget revision in close coordination with Project Managers when necessary.
  • Makes sure that financial records and backup documentation is ready for internal and external audits.
  • Support with Internal and External Auditors.
  • Compile financial summaries for country office, checking for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure that financial records and backup documentation is ready for internal and external audits.
  • Provide technical finance support services to the Field offices programs as required.
  • Provide technical assistance to field programs and staff in matters of financial processes and procedures
  • Other tasks as required.

Role requirements.

Experience and skills required for the role.

  • Degree in accounting, business management, NGO management, or similar.
  • Experience in finance position preferably with non–profit agencies. US and EC government funded grants financial and administrative experience is a preference.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Fluency in written and spoken Turkish essential. Arabic language would be a bonus.
  • Proficiency in Excel essential
