Job Title: Accountant

Duty Station: Kyiv, on-site work in the city centre. Full-time position.

Reporting Line: The Accountant will work under the direct supervision of the Operation Manager and he/she reports to the Head of Mission.

Scope of the Position: Ensuring the effective and efficient accounting management of CESVI Ukraine. The Accountant supports CESVI activities in Ukraine in its response to the humanitarian crisis and its assistance to the most vulnerable population affected by the conflict in Ukraine.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Establish all processes in the accounting of Cesvi Ukraine to ensure compliance with the national laws and regulations and Cesvi’s Procedures;
  • Manage accounting and tax records of CESVI Ukraine in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine, including preparation and submission of financial, tax, statistical reports etc;
  • Prepare and supervise all matters related to HR accounting such as payrolls, timesheets and leaves of the national staff members, keeping personnel records, and reporting, to ensure that the employment standards applied for CESVI local staff are compliant with local labor and tax law etc;
  • Manage the petty cash and related files (cash book);
  • Fill the bank books and related files;
  • Prepare Bank reconciliations;
  • Support in the preparation and submission to the HQ of the request for Payments and Request of Transfers;
  • Assist PMs and related CESVI staff in the management of expenses and procurement matters;
  • Cooperate with relevant CESVI staff at the field and HQ level for the preparation of internal and external audits;
  • Support local partners in strengthening their capacity concerning donor’s and Cesvi’s Administrative policies and procedures and accounting process;
  • Other duties if required.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance

Professional experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting of INGOs, Representative office of INGO, Local NGO and/or Charitable funds.

Skills and Competences:

  • Knowledge of Ukrainian tax regulations and Ukrainian labor laws.
  • Proficiency in computer skills (MS Office, accounting SW).
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a varied workload and work to deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Flexible and with positive attitude.

Desirable skills:

  • Good knowledge of written and spoken Ukrainian and English languages.
