Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Finance Coordinator.

About the job

Under the managerial supervision of the Head of Support Services, the Finance Coordinator role will have a country focus and ensure compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role will contribute to the development of country strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks and will provide support and/or technical guidance to Finance unit staff members while overseeing country activities. . Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Technically lead finance team across all areas of DRC Greece, including financial planning, development of new tools, ensuring financial reporting is up to date, and compliance with DRC’s Operational Handbook.
  • Act as the Finance focal point in DRC Dynamics by ensuring timely submission of reports, entering data, etc.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial management.
  • Capacity building of Finance staff.

About you

To be successful in this role we would like for you to have :

  • Minimum five years of relevant working experience in a senior financial management position or similar in private sector.
  • Proven experience in managing large budgets.
  • Proven leadership skills and a competence in people management.
  • Competence in providing technical guidance and training.
  • Experience in working with national partners, local/government authorities is highly desirable.
  • Working experience with relevant donors (e.g., UNHCR, ECHO, UNICEF, IOM, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel as well as experience working in a financial IT system.

  • Fixed Term Contract under Greek Labor Law (national contract)
  • Designation of Duty Station: Athens, Greece
