Finance Assistant

**Finance Assistant for Sponsorship | Quezon City | Fixed Term

Role Purpose**

The Finance Assistant will support the Senior Finance Officer for Sponsorship in ensuring all financial transactions are accounted, in compliance to Generally Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP), policies and procedures of Save the Children Philippines and its donors. S/he will be responsible in reviewing the accuracy, validity and completeness of the request for payment package, cash advance, liquidation and reimbursement. S/he will be coordinating with SCP Finance and Treasury for the updates of the payment requests and communicates to the program staff. S/he will also support Finance in the safe keeping of documents.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Graduate of any Business Course, preferable Accounting
• At least 2 years of meaningful experience in finance department a national or international organization or non-profit sector.
• Excellent analytical skills – the ability to analyze complex financial data and design and produce effective management information
• Excellent understanding of grants management and financial systems and procedure.
• Experience in a digital environment and knowledge in the use of accounting packages (i.e. Agresso)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; written and verbal fluency in English
• Ability to use and navigate MS Offices language (Word, Excel and Power Points) and other information technology innovation or application.
• Ability to adjust and work on tight deadlines
• Can work well in a team setting and can work collaboratively in finding solutions that will benefit the collective
• With strong personal and work ethics
• Politically, culturally and gender sensitive, with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
• Willing to travel to any part of the country as needed for the Project and maybe requested by Save the Children Philippines for its humanitarian response
• Sensitive to issues affecting children and committed to the values, mission and principles of Save the Children.
