Kvinna till Kvinna was first established in the Western Balkan region, and currently has three programme offices in the region, located in Belgrade, Sarajevo and Skopje. The focus of the work in the Western Balkans is women’s rights and participation in EU integration, combating gender-based violence, promoting peacebuilding, and security for women human rights defenders.

About the job

Kvinna till Kvinna is looking for a Finance and Administration Officer to join the Kvinna till Kvinna Western Balkan unit, with placement in the Skopje office. We are looking for a structured person who is passionate about women’s rights and economics, whom will contribute to our work in support of women’s rights in Western Balkans.

The position is based in Skopje but you will have regular work interactions with colleagues in the Western Balkan region, women’s organisations and other actors in North Macedonia, colleagues at Kvinna till Kvinna’s head office in Stockholm (Sweden) and various external stakeholders.

Your tasks will include, but not be limited to:

Financial Management

  • Ensure proper implementation of national financial laws and regulations as well as Kvinna’ s internal financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist in developing country office budget in close cooperation with country team and request regular disbursements from head office;
  • Daily bookkeeping in Kvinna till Kvinna’s accounting system (Xledger) for the country office;
  • Financial follow-up of events, activities and trips organised by Kvinna till Kvinna country office, i.e. reimbursements and payments;

Grant Management

  • Financial programme cycle management of partner organisations, such as conducting spot checks; reviewing budgets, reports, reallocation requests & supplement agreements, and ensure compliance with internal regulations;
  • Ensure comprehensive management of audits for country partner organisations;
  • Conduct financial assessments for partner organisations, write up reports and develop follow-up plan on findings.

Office and staff related tasks

  • Ensure up to date registrations;
  • Purchases and maintenance of office supplies and equipment;
  • Secure and process local contractors’ agreements;
  • Ensure proper registration of employees in the Agency for employment;

Logistic support

  • Manage logistical operations around project activities, events and visits, including accommodation, local travel, coordination of car use/travel log, travel abroad, including accommodation/tickets/insurance etc., for Kvinna till Kvinna staff and partners.

About you

To be successful as a Finance and Administration Officer, you need to be structured, meticulous, team oriented, responsible and responsive to changed situations. Kvinna till Kvinna is looking for someone with great sense of overview and ability to cooperate with a range of partners and stakeholders. You should enjoy working independently as well as in close cooperation with others. You can handle stressful situations and peaks of intense workload.

Your interest in feminism gives you a belief and commitment to women’s human rights and gender equality, with focus on very practical and hands-on tasks.

Professional qualifications

  • University/college degree in Economics / Finances / Management / Accounting / Business Administration or equivalent
  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience with finances, preferably of sub-granting, and other financial tasks;
  • Experience with financial management of grants from different donors, EU-funds is meriting;
  • Office/logistic administration is meriting;
  • Excellent writing skills in English and Macedonian;
  • A good grasp of the standard Microsoft Office package, proficient user of Excel;
  • Experience from civil society organisations is meriting;
  • Valid drivers’ license, and experienced driver

Ability to travel 2-5 times a year in North Macedonia and/or internationally to attend internal and external meetings and similar.

The position is full-time until 2024.12.31, (including 3 months’ probation period) and potential prolongation is subject to funding.

This is a national position under national labour legislation in North Macedonia open for candidates with valid work and residence permit.
