You as a Field Service Engineer – Transformers, will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in the Abu Dhabi, UAE. Installation, testing and commissioning of Hitachi Transformers and associated equipment, including OLTC and transformer assembly work. Transformer repair and troubleshooting tap changer maintenance and overhauling. Transformer control and monitoring system have knowledge about transformer digitalization will be added value. Transformer testing and commissioning including mechanical test and pressure test of the power transformer. Having idea about transformer insulating oil and oil treatment and passivation. Service is the key to success and as colleagues in our globally operating service team you appreciate independent, diversified, and solution-oriented work.

Your responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge in transformers maintenance, services & service portfolios.
  • Carrying out installation & commissioning and maintenance services independently.
  • Providing on-site or remote technical support for installation and commissioning of transformers and routine maintenance services, identifies technical problems and makes analysis through remote or on-site activity in different service categories.
  • Ensuring that the necessary accident prevention measures are observed; specifically, he abides by the guidelines for work on live system components.
  • Supervising the adherence to the safety and industry acceptable practice.
  • Creating and maintaining strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing specialist support and solutions.
  • Recommendation to customer for immediate and future service requirements, provide feedback to Service Sales team.
  • Acting as representative of the OEM during interaction with the customer and preparing the tools, equipment and parts needed for a service job and understand the scope of the job to be performed.
  • Ensuring that the documentation for the job is available and briefing with service manager, head of department or supervisor about the expected situation on site.
  • Creating service reports, time sheets & delivery note, duly signed by customer.
  • Acts as voice of customer back into internal engineering and quality functions.
  • Support service and delivery of site activities for Transformer maintenance works.
  • Effectively manages multifunctional interfaces – internal, feeder factories, service department, customers and sub suppliers.
  • Able to show personal leadership & maintain a teamwork environment to deliver assignments. Strong self-disciplined approach to ensure quality and accuracy of delivery.
  • Updating installed base in ServIS (the approved service database) with the changes made at site.
  • Establish long-term customer relationships by understanding customer requirements and applicable regulations, respond immediately to issues and demonstrate in-depth technical service product/solutions knowledge to promote product Life Cycle Management.
  • Responsible for adherence to the quality assurance requirements on the Power Plant / Substation site and seeks to improve these continually.

Your background

  • Previous experiences of 4 to 6 years in transformer service and installation testing and commissioning, OLTC repair and maintenance, Transformer protection and control, monitoring and measuring devices, maintenance work of transformer used in industries or utilities companies. Computer literate and excellent interpersonal written/oral communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to network and build relationships both internally and externally.
  • Sound knowledge of and hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning and repairing of Transformers. Ability to travel.
