Mercy Hands

Mercy Hands Europe (MHEurope) is a non-profit organisation that works to safeguard dignity, sustain human rights and build sustainable futures for people, particularly those who are the most vulnerable. We are a Geneva-based international relief and development organization, established in 2019, sister organization to Mercy Hands for Humanitarian Aid, Mercy Hands France, and Mercy Hands America.

Mercy Hands Europe is also to it is the sister organization of Mercy Hands for Humanitarian Aid (MH), the biggest local NGO in Iraq founded in 2004, and to two new emerging offices: Mercy Hands America and Mercy Hands France.

MHEurope’s mission is to empower vulnerable communities living in the disaster-affected areas of Iraq, Syria, Ethiopia and Ukraine through our sister organization and local partners.

We focus primarily on emergency, education, protection, agriculture and livelihoods projects. We support the relief and development of projects with partner organizations on the ground.

Our emergency response team and project management experience and expertise, and our presence in Switzerland, allow us to secure relief to local communities.

The entire Mercy Hands Group is creating an “**Alliance for Ukraine**” to support those impacted families. It is for this reason that MHEurope needs ASAP a field monitor in Poland.

Location:

West Ukraine or border towns of neighboring countries (Poland, Moldova, Romania)

Salary and benefits:

The remuneration will be 500 CHF per month.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

You will report to the Executive Director and Programme Officers, and your main role will be to Report on a daily basis the situation of refugees.

In detail, your responsibilities include:

  1. Monitor the movement of Ukrainian refugees within the area of responsibility (depending on the base location of the Field Monitor).
  2. Conduct daily visits to Ukrainian refugees’ settlements/ camps and assess their numbers and needs.
  3. Monitor the flow of humanitarian aid and identify gaps in assistance.
  4. Facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid
  5. Represent Mercy Hands Europe in regional or national NGOs coordination mechanisms and bodies.
  6. Submit daily sit-rep and regularly update the database of Refugees Movement
    Submit a weekly article on Ukrainian refugees with pictures from the field.
