CONTEXT

Médecins Sans Frontières-Holland (MSF-H) is a private, non-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.

MSF-H is currently recruiting for a Female Community Health Educator, in Hawija/ Abbasi.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Prepare material and deliver health education sessions, messages, and topics addressed to different populations regarding hygiene, diseases and prevention, and SGBV.
• Ensure all the patients and caretakers are well informed, according to protocols, about health related issues and services provided.
• Monitor health situation and living conditions of the population by conducting nutritional screening, collecting information related to food security, checking vaccination status of children, looking actively for any defaulters in programs that require this type of research, collecting information on number of people arriving or leaving the community, births and deaths in the community, etc.
• Identify people with medical problems, contact with medical team and report for immediate transfer if needed. He/she has to inform to the line manager about any problem encountered (population, equipment, material…).
• Report to line manager of all results of screening and visits on a regular basis.
• Implement Health Promotion activities in order to empower individuals to promote health in their own communities
• Foster community platforms for sharing existing knowledge/local solutions and to identify gaps and overlapping of services and medical needs
• Keep education and communication areas clean and tidy

CONTRACT DETAILS

• Fix term contract if non DOH staff is hired and service agreement if DOH staff is hired (applicants working with government institutions must provide unpaid leave/Non objection certificate before any selection decision made by MSF).
