Job Description

Raytheon Intelligence and Space Field Engineering (RIS FE) Space is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in supporting maintenance operations of the Qatar Early Warning Radar (QEWR). The successful candidate will join a team of field engineers in a challenging assignment at a remote location. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for electrical maintenance of the Radar facility and will also serve as the lead technical point of contact for conducting product training for customer personnel in establishing operation, maintenance, and inspection procedures and techniques. The candidate will p articipate in the coordination and administration of assigned configuration management activities relative to identification, control, and accounting for systems and/or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements. Establish procedures for and implements the introduction of changes to engineering documents for the assigned program. Works with on site and reach back engineering and maintenance staff to monitor execution of testing, and documents test results. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities. Ensures that customer requirements are implemented, and reviews change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies. Candidates for this position will be on a Long-Term International Assignment (LTIA) in Qatar.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Technically qualified in performing maintenance on electrical systems, substations, transmissions, and distribution circuits.
  • Experience with line conductors, insulators, transformers, lightning and surge protection, switches, voltage regulator, fuses, and circuit breakers. Knowledge of line maintenance with hot sticks, testing of hot sticks, gloves, High Voltage cables, grounding principles, protective grounding, and distribution transformer installation
  • Experience reading Electrical drawings, diagrams, electrical formulas, calculations, and schematics
  • Demonstrated ability to remove and replace failed assemblies and subassemblies
  • Excellent Communication skills, both oral and written, are required to effectively work with internal and external personnel
  • Candidate should be proficient at using the Microsoft Office software applications in preparing status reports, generating various documents and procedures, etc.
  • Self-starter that requires little supervision
  • Professional and positive attitude who���������s comfortable working with peers, site leadership, and management
  • Detailed oriented and efficient
  • Proven experience working in a team environment.
  • Performs general maintenance and housekeeping of workplace, tools, and equipment
  • Performs other similar duties as required or directed

MUST HAVE ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE, A VALID US PASSPORT, AND US DRIVERS LICENSE

  • Experience in Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of
    • Caterpillar (CAT) 3516B (60 Hz) Diesel Generator Sets
    • Diesel Generator Paralleling System Power Sources
    • Facility uninterruptible power supply systems (UPS)
    • Power Transfer Switches
      • Both Automatic (ATS) and Static (STS)
    • Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAH)
    • Chillers
    • Static Frequency Converters (SFC)
    • Both 50 and 60 hertz (Hz) Distribution Systems
    • Auxiliary Power 415V-50Hz Systems
    • House Power 480V 60Hz Systems
    • Fire Alarm Systems
    • Telecommunications and Audio-Visual Systems
  • Familiar with Raytheon practices regarding technical documentation.
  • Familiar with US Department of Defense testing and acceptance practices for facilities sub-systems.
  • Prior experience in Radar System performance analysis or Radar Operations and maintenance experience of phased array radar systems is strongly recommended.
  • Automated Logistics Control System (ALCS) knowledge a plus
  • Early Warning Radar (EWR) system experience/knowledge desired
  • Fast learner (Demonstrates initiative, ability to work independently towards program goals)
  • Six Sigma or CORE Champion Certification
  • Experience in dealing with customer representatives and in coordinating actions with other contractors is a plus.

The primary work location will be on-site in Qatar. 100% travel is required to meet activities as needed. Due to country and/or customer requirements, as a condition of employment for this position, the successful candidate will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof prior to start date.

Required Education

Typically requires a Bachelor of Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) from an accredited institution or a related field or equivalent experience. An advanced degree in a related field and minimum 8 years��������� experience may be considered for this role.
