Save the Children Global Ventures is the in-house team at Save the Children responsible for taking innovative finance and new technologies to scale. Combining the best of Save the Children’s global delivery platform with new funding mechanisms, ed-tech, e-health and other new technologies, we seek to solve some of the most pressing problems facing children.

Where you come in:

In this key leadership, permanent, full-time role, based in Asia, the Un ited States or Europe, you will be a driving force towards our mission to scale innovative business models and programs that dramatically improve the lives of millions of the world’s most vulnerable children. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for driving deals, developing new innovative finance products, and promoting the potential of innovative finance mechanisms to internal and external stakeholders.

You will make an impact by:

  • Serving as an Innovative Finance technical expert and leading deal negotiations for internal and external client groups,
  • Providing strategic advisory services in the design and mapping of innovative finance mechanisms,
  • Mobilising finance for the Humanitarian/Development sectors via the engagement of partners and networks,
  • Leading efforts to develop opportunities with partners and potential donors across corporate, impact investment, not-for-profit, and philanthropic client groups, and
  • Drafting proposals, pitch decks, and associated materials to engage diverse client groups.

You have deep, specialist expertise across a broad range of Innovative Finance mechanisms and actively utilize these skills to create innovative products with attractive social and financial returns for stakeholders. A strong communicator and naturally influential, you are well networked in the finance sector to unlock opportunities to achieve ambitious growth targets.

This role requires:

  • Substantial experience in senior management roles within a global development and/or management consulting environment,
  • Deep technical expertise in Innovative Finance and/or access to finance in development, impact investment, and/or corporate contexts,
  • Demonstrated versatility to provide strategic advisory or management consulting services,
  • Superior skill in understanding and presenting complex/technical issues to a wide range of stakeholders,
  • Ability to establish and meet/exceed targets in line with organisational strategy and objectives, and
  • Knowledge of humanitarian and/or international development agency context.
