Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist with review of proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; and determining cost effectiveness.
- Build scopes to solicit subcontractor and supplier bids and interface with their representatives in order to receive responsive bids prior to bid letting.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy and presentation meetings as requested.
- Interface with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment of the cost estimates.
- Assist with prospects/clients contact to obtain bids and confirm pricing.
- Participate in cost trend analyses to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.
- Assist in updating estimating software programs.

Education
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field from a four-year college/university or equivalent experience.
Experience
Two to seven years or more of related work experience required.
Scope
Responsible for own work only; expenses, and to a large extent results, are closely controlled by work procedures and standards.
Guidelines
Works according to guidelines, but may make changes with pre-determined guidelines.
Physical Demands
Physical demands for this position are moderate. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be walking, standing, bending or lifting of moderately heavy (25-50 pounds) items. The work may require specific but common physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity.
Work Environment
The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, residences, commercial vehicles, or outdoors, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls and observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc.
