Equipment Operator

Job Purpose: Job Purpose To operate standard motorised and diverse technical equipment in a safe and efficient manner in order to undertake manual and technical activities to support Airside operation?s and Customers? requirements. This includes but not limited to loading and unloading baggage and cargo to and from Systems, ULD, trucks, carts and aircraft or movement of standard motorised and diverse technical equipment (including PBT) for positioning, maintenance and repair. Execute – Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment – Discusses safety concerns openly and reports them to the concerned supervisor – Follows all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner – Follows the day-to-day operations related to own job and trained qualifications – Operates different Ground Support Equipment (GSE) depending on the assigned area in line with the operating manuals based on the training qualifications – Inspects assigned Ground Support Equipment to ensure serviceability and suitability – Assists in airside operations activities including sorting, loading and unloading baggage and cargo correctly (whether it is a unitized or bulk) to and from systems, ULD, trucks, carts and aircraft – Ensures vehicles and equipment in close proximity to the aircraft, congested areas and where mandated are marshalled in and out, to and from the aircraft in a safe manner – Arranges dollies, trollies, ULD in various locations to support staging, supply , or rotation as the operation demands Baggage and Cargo: – Retrieves and stores unit load devices and cargo to/ from various areas (workstations, ramp and customers) – Transfers unit load devices baggage dollies and urgent documents within the Cargo Terminal and Turnaround areas Ramp: – Loads and off loads dead load correctly and safely in accordance with the aircraft load plan – Provides marshalling and handling of dead-load to ensure smooth aircraft turnaround Ambulift: – Meets and escorts passengers / customers for ambulance requirements as per the laid down service standards in order to provide quality service in coordination with the Special Handling Agents Support: – Day to day prioritisation of equipment for servicing in terms of mileage and recency – Report all defects to direct supervisor – Lead the removal of defective equipment from site – Ensure all identified equipment is serviced and delivered back into the operations as planned Aircraft Appearance: – Provide and off-load aircraft cabin furbishing items/ headsets/ additional replenishments on Emirates flights across the shift based on flight schedule, aircraft registration and parking stands. – Collect cabin furbishing items supplied by various suppliers from airport Gate and off-load them at Main Stores/Line stores. – Operate various Aircraft washing units (Tempest/Carpet shampoo unit/platforms) and carry out aircraft exterior wash as per laid down procedures and safety parameters. – Ensure equipment?s operated by them is serviceable at time of usage in Operations.
Qualifications & Experience: Experience: Airport Operations Knowledge: – High School (Minimum of 10 years of schooling required) – 0 – 2 years of experience in Ground Support Equipment and on-job training – UAE Driving license / Home Country Driving License – Valid license for operating equipment (ADP, TTR, LDL , MCB, Forklift, TPTR, Step, HGV) – For operators (ADP and TTR) English Level 2 – For operators (ADP, TTR and Additional licenses) English Level 3 – For cost centre in Support ? (ADP, TTR and Additional licenses up to Pushback licence) and English level 3. – Basic Communication Skills – Basic Safety Awareness
