Come and join our Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) team at our Sarnia refinery and build your resume with a company that offers challenges, respect, support, and some fun along the way. As our EH&S Intern, you will be an integral part of our EH&S team. You will support various environmental and safety initiatives, complete reports for both internal and external use and manage our refinery’s fugitive emission Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) program.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in an Environmental Science, or Engineering program at an accredited post-secondary institution
  • You must be returning to full-time studies after the work term
  • Please attach your most recent transcripts with your application

Responsibilities:

  • Work with maintenance, operations and external contractors to ensure LDAR monitoring and repairs are completed in a timely manner
  • Oversee fugitive emissions monitoring of volatile organic compounds on process equipment
  • Provide routine updates to our refinery’s leadership team on the status and effectiveness of the LDAR program
  • Compile data for various environmental reports for federal and provincial regulations
  • Compile safety metrics and create monthly reports
  • Participate as a member of our refinery’s Joint Health and Safety Committee

Location and Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Sarnia refinery in Ontario, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway
  • This is a 16-month work term, starting in May 2023
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
