POSITION SUMMARY : Co-Op Program Overview – Midrexs Co-Op Program offers an immersive assignment to undergraduate students, enhancing their understanding of the business world through valuable, hands-on experience with a people centric organization. Midrex offers a paid co-op assignment that begins with an orientation at the start of the assignment and continues over at least two additional semesters with alternating semesters of work and full-time coursework.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
The internship will consist of a project-based assignment to broaden learning, experience, organizational knowledge and business acumen. Potential Areas of Learning:

• Ability to work on a variety of real world impact projects based on the specific discipline being pursued

Skills/Abilities:
Required:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Ability to learn new technology, software and tools including 3-D CAD and analysis software
• Strong interpersonal skills and written/oral communication skills

Education and Experience:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Attend domestic inspection trips with Midrex teammates
• Possibility of a domestic or international trip to visit an operating Midrex plant

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to move around a fabrication shop and an industrial plant site, including safely climbing inside and around equipment
