  • Position General Responsibilities:
  • Competently understand and work under the guidelines, policies, procedures, and instructions of the Quality System to achieve quality and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Maintain a good, professional working relationship with all company personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and customers.
  • Competently work in a fast-paced, project-oriented, deadline-driven and continuous improvement environment to meet company goals concerning schedules, technical accuracy, and budgets.
  • Use engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Willingness to work in both individual and group environments.
  • Willingness to immediately travel as required by air or automotive.
  • Willingness to travel to and work at remote locations throughout the year with 80% being an average yearly travel requirement.
  • Maintain technical expertise in controls systems hardware and software technology through training and other forms of continuing education (such as training courses and classes, technical journals and magazines, professional societies, site visits, etc.).
  • Position Specific Responsibilities:
  • Make site visits to the control panel builder and quality check the controls for accuracy and functionality using the panel checklist prior to shipping to the project site.
  • Travel to customer site to commission Fives equipment and complete level two checklist.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during commissioning including minor PLC, GDU and HMI programming as required.
  • Submit daily reports to the team during commissioning including issues, concerns, troubleshooting efforts, and results.
  • Travel to customer site to conduct volume testing, standby support and acceptance testing on Fives installed equipment and control systems.
  • Preload the PLC and GDU software so the integrator or installer can complete level one checklist.
  • Support Quality improvement initiatives.

Education And/or Experience

  • Understanding and basic proficiency in PLC, GDU and HMI programming
  • Understanding and basic proficiency in AutoCAD Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
  • Ability to create presentations that conform to prescribed style and format
  • Ability to effectively present information to peers and supervisors

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to solve problems using a systemic approach
