JOB SUMMARY

As a small but rapidly growing global health organization, we are looking for a full-time Project Coordinator Responsible for in-country coordination and implementation of program and operations activities, adherence to logistics, human resources, administration, and security procedures. Serves as the central MedGlobal presence and point of contact in Ecuador. This position works in conjunction with the on-site Clinical Coordinator in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee clinic activities in the event the Clinical Coordinator is absent or sick.
  • Support the submission process of grant proposals for funding to expand program capacity by providing feedback and up-to-date information from the context in the field.
  • Provide supervision and coordination of medical volunteers.
  • Oversee orientation process for medical volunteers and ensure security protocols are met.
  • Update project trackers accordingly with project outcomes (Metrics, Financial, Activity work plan ).
  • Create and update Project Management Databases (PMD) for the FO projects.
  • Update Global Beneficiaries Output Tracker (GBOT), Facilities Areas tracker, Projects tracker, Zengine tracker.
  • Take an active role in planning for projects.
  • Resiliency medical missions in Ecuador.
  • Medical and food security distributions in CAM Guayauquil and MedGlobal Resiliency Medical Missions.
  • Distribution and in kind donation projects.
  • Developing activities in Guayas province.
  • Reaching out to local partners in Guayaquil and Guayas province.
  • Provide input on planning strategies in Guayas and Guayaquil.
  • Help improve processes for clinic functions with input from the Clinical Coordinator and MedGlobal leadership improving patient flow, patient protocols and patient follow up.
  • Follow up closely with partners on their reporting process and work to improve the reporting capabilities of implementing partners.
  • Catalog and organize all medications/supplies brought by volunteers.
  • Coordinate media content to be used for volunteer engagement, social media, fundraising, etc.
  • Make sure we collect monthly stories from the field (in collaboration with the photographer)
  • Collect quotes from volunteers and pictures to be used on social media (in collaboration with the photographer)
  • Provide up-to-date information of local stakeholders activities.
  • Provide up-to-date information of local health authorities regarding MedGlobal’s work in Ecuador.

Finance & Reporting

  • Create project budgets and update Financial reports
  • Act as Finance Officer unless, in the future, one is hired:
    • Work with implementing partners to ensure that financial and programmatic reports are accurate and complete.
    • Summarize financial and programmatic reports for the MedGlobal leadership team.
    • Support with payment voucher and invoice translations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Degree in health or nutrition related fields preferred.
  • Knowledge of project/business management practices and procedures.
  • Experience with principles and guidelines of program planning, implementation, and logistics.
  • Substantial knowledge of international standard logistics procedures (purchasing, contracts) and practices.
  • Good understanding of financial & human resources procedures.
  • Excellent communication and representation skills (oral, written, cultural).
  • Ability to multitask and deal with stressful situations.
  • Ability to adapt within the working environment.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • Familiarity with contracts, MOUs, and other legal documents written in Spanish and as utilized in Ecuador.
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish.
