The Pod Group is engaging in the search for a compassionate, knowledgeable, and

innovative Director of Operations who will collaborate with the Executive Director and leadership team to lead the department, while ensuring the operations are aligned to the mission, vision, and strategic plan.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Our leaders build on strengths and relationships to inspire, motivate, and support our staff to achieve our vision. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Operations will provide operational leadership and oversee a variety of departments, including sales and marketing, customer service, food services, and wellness. You will work to maintain an environment which promotes the health and well-being of staff and optimal service delivery, while ensuring the needs of clients and family members are met.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with the leadership team from across all departments, including nursing and facilities, to promote and support the mission and vision of the organization by demonstrating behaviour consisting with organizational and leadership values. The incumbent will use a strengths-based, solution-focused approach and build on relationships to inspire, motivate, and support staff. You will lead the team to identify and implement new ideas and systems that support continuous quality improvements across the organization.

POSITION FOCUS

As a key leader, you will focus on the following:

  • Lead to ensure there is a great resident experience and a highly successful operation supporting an innovative social enterprise.
  • Collaborate to establish future market viability and a competitive advantage by developing, monitoring, and improving brand and marketing strategies.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize systems, procedures, and departmental budgets to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Manages marketing design and strategies to ensure that life lease townhouses and suites, as well as the assisted living suites meet occupancy targets.
  • Coordinates the creation of external and internal communications for residents and families.
  • Manages the design and administration of customer satisfaction surveys, including collection and analysis of data, and makes recommendations for continuous improvement strategies.
  • Demonstrates a highly responsive approach in collaborating with the leadership team to hire, onboard, and supervise new and existing team members.
  • In collaboration with the Executive Director, reviews systems and procedures to ensure best practices are implemented across the division.
  • Achieve sales targets by streamlining processes, analyzing occupancy rates, and developing strategies that promote a great resident and community experience.
  • Collaborate with other agencies in the community to determine service gaps and solutions to address them.
  • Participate in all internal/external conferences, courses, committees, and task forces as required.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, accreditation and applicable legislation including Health Disciplines Act, Mental Health Act, WSIB legislation, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL SETS

  • Degree or diploma in healthcare, business or related field is preferred.
  • 3 years of leadership experience, preferably in healthcare or senior services.
  • Knowledge of data analysis, sales, marketing, and financial management.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and mentor within a cross-functional team.
  • Apply strategic, organized, innovative, and creative thinking to the design and administration of programs and services.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about anti-oppression and anti-racism.
  • Ability to effectively cope and adapt to change and consistently demonstrate high performance.
  • Ability to communicate strategically to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to build authentic relationships with residents and community partners.
  • Sound understanding and empathy for the needs of seniors and their families.
