DIRECTOR OF EVENTS AND MANAGEMENT

Responsibilities:

1. Global Events

  • The director of events and entertainment will lead the efforts to further push the boundaries of CARE’s overall global event strategy across live, hybrid and virtual events. (S)he will be responsible for all aspects of events from concept design to resourcing to execution including but not limited to strategic event concepts, event technology, venue sourcing, leading strategic meetings, event travel and on site event management.
  • The position requires strong creativity and problem solving skills as (s)he will create, develop and oversee the execution of a variety of events with unique objectives including: CARE’s national advocacy conference, CARE Impact Awards, Speaker Series and other key events to elevate CARE’s profile.
  • S(he) is responsible for developing and managing the events budget, and leds all event meetings with outside agency partners.

2. Entertainment Relations

  • CARE is continuing its efforts to grow its celebrity and influencer relationships to help raise critical awareness of our mission, to reinforce our programming work and fundraise. This role will further develop and implement an integrated Global Celebrity strategy that supports the brand vision and business objectives.
  • S/he will be work with an outside agency to build and maintain relationships with CARE’s Global Advisory Council. S/he will be a big picture thinker who understands how key relationships impact the organization as a whole and will Continue outreach efforts with celebrities, talent agencies and other related influencers and constantly scout and advise on new opportunities.
  • S/he will oversee and develop structure and protocol for celebrity engagement. Oversee the negotiation and management of all contracts and agreements and advise on best practices. Support internal teams in identifying and obtaining talent relevant to the entertainment market; and develop tailored programs per market needs. Measure ROI and impressions across initiatives in order to gauge success and inform future initiatives. Liaise with other CARE country offices to ensure any celebrity trips are executed flawlessly.

3. Team Management

This position will oversee a team of four (4) events and entertainment staff.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of work experience in events and entertainment.
  • Managerial and leadership experience with successful track record, strong organizational analytical, strategic thinking skills and a strong ability to collaborate cross function;
  • Experience managing outside agency partners;
  • Deep understanding of the celebrity and influencer landscape.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • A+ Organization, project and time management.
  • Proven ability to communicate skillfully and persuasively- both orally and in written form.
  • Technical expertise in virtual events, a plus
