POSITION SUMMARY:

The Direct Response Fundraising Coordinator supports the Mass Market Fundraising team with project management, creative ideation, reviews and editing for digital and offline fundraising strategies and communications with current and prospective mass market supporters. They also provide support for the peer-to-peer fundraising program, including charity streaming. The role ensures close integration and collaboration on projects with other DevComm teams and external agencies. They gather content for fundraising materials, document processes and ensure campaign deliverables and approvals are met. They also ensure quick and efficient communication across teams during rapid response fundraising moments. They work to increase the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and create an engaging experience for donors and key constituents. Position to be based in our Washington, DC office but US-based remote candidates will also be considered.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fundraising & Marketing

  • Assist with execution of direct mail and email campaigns, digital ads, telemarketing, and other fundraising plans. Ensure deadlines are met at each stage of production.
  • Manage daily campaign planning and coordination with agencies.
  • Track and update direct mail and email welcome series, receipts and automated communication streams.
  • Maintain mass market fundraising campaign calendar and testing roadmap.
  • Provide emergency fundraising coordination across teams and agencies.
  • Support fundraising analytics, reporting, and other duties as assigned.

Creative & Strategy Development

  • Proof, edit and fact check fundraising strategies, scripts, copy, art, and setups for accuracy, typos, and styling conflicts. Provide feedback to team, writers and agencies.
  • Conduct research and connect with programs and communication teams to gather content necessary for production of fundraising materials.
  • Maintain digital archive of strategies, creative, notes, and important documents.
  • Participate in fundraising brainstorms and conduct peer research to develop ideas, inform new strategies, and generate marketing opportunities.

Audience Management Support

  • Help with coordination of stewardship to high value donor audiences, inclusive of thank you calling and texting programs.
  • Assist in acquiring testimonials and producing stories about various donor audiences.
  • Support project management and fundraiser outreach for P2P fundraising and charity streaming campaigns.

Campaign Project Management

  • Serve as liaison between Corporation & Foundations, Major Gifts, Operations and MarComms.
  • Initiate and manage creative requests to Brand, Content and Website team.
  • Utilize Asana and fundraising CRM’s (Net Forum and Luminate).

Internal Communication and Coordination

  • Create agenda, facilitate and take notes for Mass Market team meetings.
  • Input fundraising campaign info into Asana for planning and sharing across teams.
  • Update programmatic impact dollar handles 1x per year.
  • Maintain sample library of physical direct mail appeals.
  • Assist with contracts, invoicing, RFP’s and SOW’s as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/S in Marketing, Communications, or relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience or understanding of marketing concepts and strategy, graphic design, editing, copywriting, proofreading, printing, and production.
  • Min 1-2 years of experience project managing short and long-term projects from planning to completion in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational time management skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – both written and oral.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, within a team environment, and with diverse internal constituencies in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with MS Office and other relevant software.
  • Must be available when needed on nights and weekends during emergency fundraising moments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2-4 years of experience in direct response fundraising or related field.
  • Experience in managing multiple vendors and agencies.
  • Experience working within fundraising CRMs such as Net Forum or Raisers Edge.
  • Experience with direct response fundraising, marketing, or a related field; experience with direct mail, email, and other digital and offline marketing communications.
  • Affinity for global health and international development.
