The Defence & Security Portfolio has a series of market-leading events currently based in the UK, Europe and Asia. These range from confex style events to large scale exhibitions. All are market leaders within their ‘space’ and the next 12 months will see us continue to expand and innovate both in new geographies and with new digital platforms.

We are looking for a Digital Marketing Executive to work alongside the co-Founder of a new digital subscription platform we are launching in Spring 2022. This is an exciting time to join a new product right from the start, shaping the processes and approach to winning and engaging customers, and making a splash in the market.

You:

The ideal candidate will be a digital native and social media-savvy, helping to plan and take responsibility in executing digital marketing campaigns to raise brand awareness, generate leads, win and maintain new subscribers, with a real opportunity to take the initiative on digital tactics. In addition, the role has the responsibility to work with other marketing teams across the department to leverage cross promotion and data acquisition through the co-ordination of marketing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Campaign Delivery

  • Develop and ensure effective delivery of digital marketing campaigns to build brand awareness, create customer traction, generate traffic and sales leads. This could include but is not limited to: SEO, PPC, programmatic ads, development of web forms, direct email campaigns and social media campaigns (in particular LinkedIn and Twitter)
  • Write and proof any copy for promotional materials, digital or otherwise, with attention to detail.
  • Implement and monitor partnership activity that benefit the platform – including media partners, associations, affiliates, technology providers and other key stakeholders within the communities.

Data & Insights Driven

  • Identify relevant existing data to target, opportunities for new data acquisition, and work with the campaign marketing teams to ensure a consistent funnel of sales leads.
  • Identify and monitor KPIs throughout to constantly optimise performance, from direct response to Google Analytics, to report on performance, suggest and implement new campaign tactics.
  • Identify key industry trends, innovations, technologies and internal practices elsewhere in Clarion that can drive growth

Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and Behaviour:

  • Excellent communication skills – with teams internally and externally with customers
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills
  • Take the initiative and be curious in order to spot opportunities that can help achieve goals
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise relevant tasks
  • Ability to measure effectiveness of channels to increase efficiency, provide analysis and make recommendations
  • Experience of marketing automation and analytics tools, CMS and CRM platforms (Pardot, Google Analytics and Salesforce highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of best practice across email, social media, paid media, landing pages and websites
  • General knowledge of GDPR laws including preference centres and privacy policies
  • You will have experience of implementing, testing and developing digital marketing campaigns including effective use of content marketing
