The Position

The Development Partner Coordination Specialist will support MHMS to manage, align, and coordinate the various development partners that are supporting the Ministry in achieving its vision, mission, and strategic priorities.

This position will support the Executive Support Unit of MHMS to improve the overall coordination, appropriateness, and timely delivery of all external assistance to the health sector. This external assistance could be in the form of Government-to-Government bilateral funding, multilateral assistance (such as UN agencies and multilateral development banks), civil society and non-government organisations, technical institutions, and the private sector.

The position will have a strong emphasis on identifying the scope and value of MHMS development partner assistance, mapping these, ensuring transparency and accessibility of development partner (DP) support. These activities will facilitate MHMS’ leadership and direction of DP support and ensure DPs are aligned to the Ministry’s goals and strategic goals.

This role will ensure that the MHMS is fully aware of all donor assistance, the type of assistance, its monetary value, timeframe, and purpose. The specialist will work closely with the Fiji Facility Health Program (FHP) and will ensure that there is constructive engagement and relationships between development partners and the MHMS.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have a recognised Bachelor Degree with preferably more than 10 years’ relevant experience working in international development or public services. The candidate will have proven experience in development partner coordination and harmonization including experience in design, management, and implementation of programs, and/or coordination of multi-stakeholder/inter-agency/inter-group program processes.

They will demonstrate experience in gender equality, social inclusion, and disability at national and international level. The candidate will have good communication skills, with ability to advocate effectively and communicate sensitively across different constituencies.

This position is locally engaged and open to national and international applicants. Starting salary will be FJD 110,000 (full-time equivalent) and appointed on a part-time 0.6 FTE basis. A salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications will be negotiated for the right applicant.
