Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Human Resources, the Deputy Director, Talent and Development will develop and deliver on a strategy to attract, develop, and retain top talent to support the growth of IRI and enhance our reputation as an employer of choice. This role will focus on development of strategy and have key aspects of operational execution as a part of IRI’s Global Human Resources team.

This person will have a keen eye for talent with the ability to develop strategies and deliver operational excellence for a candidate and employee throughout the life cycle of Human Resources while at IRI.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of eight years’ professional experience working in Recruitment, Talent or comparable Human Resources role in a mid-sized organization. A Bachelor’s degree will count towards equivalent experience.
  • Interpersonal and proven negotiation skills to interact with staff, vendors, etc. in a customer-oriented manner while developing effective working relationships and demonstrating solution focused problem solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and projects simultaneously with excellent organizational skills.
  • Great attention to detail, ability to work independently under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and HRIS experience, preferably UKG.
  • Experience with Diversity outreach and demonstrated cultural adeptness to support equity and inclusion approaches.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities:

Talent & Relationship Building:

  • Will provide effective management, mentorship, coaching and guidance to a team of Recruiters and Specialists providing support for personal growth and professional development.
  • With Human Resources leadership, sets the vision, strategy, and goals for talent acquisition both domestic and international. Uses recruiting best practices for a competitive edge over competing organizations
  • In select instances, negotiate and oversee offers process to negotiate compensation package including salary, start date and allowances
  • Defines, develops, and measures weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual recruiting metrics (qualitative and quantitative) in collaboration with the HR Leadership. Provides a cadence of requested reports via IRI’s HRIS (UKG).
  • Leads in the development of strategies, plans and marketing materials to promote, recruit and retain high quality talent at IRI.
  • Effectively manage a portfolio of projects and activities across the Talent team including candidate experience, interviewer training, internal mobility, diversity outreach, and internal referrals.
  • Serves to facilitate and develop a diverse pool of candidates while staying abreast with hiring trends.
  • Screen/review online applications evaluating such factors as job experience, education, training, skills, knowledge, ability and develop a short list of potential candidates to forward to the hiring manager
  • May conduct informational interviews, candidate follow up for select positions.

Outreach and Process Implementation:

  • Establishes an outreach strategy and may participate in conferences and network forum to introduce IRI to potential applicants and candidates. Attends and manages budgets for all college recruiting hiring events.
  • Networks through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and employees to help identify and source candidates as well as actively maintain a pipeline of talent. Identifies and evaluates trends in recruiting.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience and act as brand ambassador when representing IRI.
  • Build applicant pools by researching a variety of educational, employment agency, recruiter and other avenues.
  • Recommend improvements to current recruitment processes to ensure streamlined, cost effective services are being provided to hiring managers.
  • Inform and improve current practices and identify opportunities to enhance recruitment and talent development through facilitation and training.

Development & Human Resources Related:

  • Serves as cultural steward in an effort to promote best in class workplace practices focused on furthering IRI’s mission and values based culture.
  • Propose innovative tools and approaches that foster IRI’s global workforce environment and allow IRI to be seen as an employer of choice.
  • Partner to proactively identify IRI’s current and future talent needs. Create opportunities to enhance skills and professional growth within the Institute.
  • Provides oversight and guidance of IRI onboarding process, providing key recommendations for improvement to continually enhance onboarding experience and entry into employee experience.
