The Office of the Administrator (A/AID) provides overall direction to the Agency in its administration of the U.S. foreign economic assistance programs and the appropriations made available for such purposes under the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended.

Further, the A/AID/DEIA, makes advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility a priority component of the Agency’s management agenda and the Agency’s strategic planning. The Deputy Chief DEIA Officer, will work with the Chief DEIA Officer to promote the vision of a respectful, safe, and inclusive Agency by providing centralized oversight of Agency efforts to advance DEIA internally within the workforce and through Agency programs and partnerships. The Deputy Chief DEIA Officer will implement, at the direction of the Chief DEIA Officer, the Government-wide DEIA Plan prepared pursuant to Executive Order 14035, and such other related guidance as issued from time to time by other Federal entities.

The Deputy Chief DEIA Officer primarily focuses on people, culture, training and events, while also supporting the Chief DEIA Officer, in all matters. The incumbent will, in the absence of the Chief DEIA Officer, represent the Agency to the interagency and external DEIA engagements, including, but not limited to, the Domestic Policy Council, Office of Management and Budget (OMB), National Security Council (NSC), and the President’s Management Council.

Serves as a senior advisor to the Administrator, Deputy Administrators, and Chief of Staff. Develops and/or reviews Bureau, Regional Bureau, and Mission policies, strategies, and programs in the management area, with an eye toward conceptualizing, promoting, and implementing reforms under the Agency’s Transformation.
