The Opportunity

Save the Children International is seeking a Demand Generation Advisor for the newly USAID-funded OSRA program.

The OSRA program is five-year Pathfinder-led USAID-funded project. The goal of the OSRA program is to improve family health outcomes by reinforcing the national family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) program in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP). The OSRA program will achieve this purpose through the three pivotal results: 1) Women’s and men’s uptake and continuation of voluntary family planning services increased; 2) Youth equipped with knowledge and skills necessary to make healthy life choices; and 3) Gender dynamics improved for enhanced voluntary family planning and reproductive health outcomes. The OSRA program will closely collaborate with different local stakeholders and other Government of Egypt (GOE) entities to attain its results

The Demand Generation Advisor will work closely with technical leads to provide technical assistance to design, implement and monitor integrated Demand Generation activities at the health service and community levels. The Demand Generation Advisor will support the design, implementation, and monitoring of Social Behaviour Change (SBC) approaches. The Demand Generation Advisor will provide onsite technical assistance and capacity strengthening to project staff and partners, including state and local partners. They will advise on with health promotion, and responding to SBC and Demand Generation through project activities.

The Demand Generation Advisor will work under the direction of the SBC Team lead. They will also be indirectly backstopped by an SBC Senior Advisor based at Save the Children’s headquarters on technical matters related to SBC and Demand Generation activities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Demonstrated abilities and experience in effective development of SBC strategy and materials; development and implementation of community engagement strategies; participatory formative research and training facilitation
  • Experience and successful performance in working in family planning/reproductive health, and Gender Based Violence (GBV), with successful experience with private sector engagement and with adolescents and youth preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations, including under limitations determined by project work plans or donor regulations;
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, collaboration experience (including with line ministries), creativity and willingness to innovate
  • Familiarity with and understanding of USAID regulations, policies and procedures or those of other donors
  • Experience working in Egypt and/or the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region
  • Fluent oral and strong written English and Arabic communication skills required
  • Strong skills in program documentation and report writing
  • Demonstrates Save the Children’s core values of accountability, collaboration, integrity, ambition, and creativity
