Wrightington Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a talented individual with a clear passion for data and analytics to join our award winning Data Analytics team. You will be a Data Champion – demonstrating how Data Science can support our patient care.

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are renowned leaders in Healthcare Analytics and we are looking to expand our newly established Data Science Team.

Main duties of the job

One of your main responsibilities will be the delivery of scalable production ready data solutions. This could vary from the application of Machine Learning models in order to support clinical decision making, to building advanced risk stratification frameworks in order to evaluate our population health.

You will work alongside teams of SQL & Qlik developers and Data Analysts. You will have the skills to communicate effectively with the members of these Teams and will enlighten them on the capabilities of Data Science.

Ideally, you will have the following skills/experience:

  • Trained in a numerate degree, or hold the equivalent relevant practical experience;
  • Knowledge of relevant Data Science topics such as Machine Learning, Statistical learning and Mathematical Modelling;
  • Experience at coding with a language such as R or Python;
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.

The vacancy is for 37.5 hours per week This vacancy may close earlier than the specified closing date if a suitable level of applications are received. Candidates will be required to show evidence of their examination certificates to the interview panel.
