Position Title: Data Integrity Supervisor

Reports To: Data Integrity Manager

Division : Immigration & Refugee Program+ (IRP+)

Department: Programs, Compliance

Job Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Grade Level: Grade 7, Senior Officer

Primary Purpose:

This position is primarily responsible for leading technically involved projects within Data Integrity (DI), and assisting the Data Integrity Manager in increasing the technical capacity of Data

Analysts.

Essential Duties:

  1. Provides leadership to the Data Analysts, including performance evaluations, participating in hiring and annual leave coordination.
  2. Assists the Data Integrity Manager in developing, updating, and implementing of DI Standard Operating Procedures.
  3. Ensures that all incoming report requests are created and published on the Tableau site.
  4. Ensures effective and timely communication with management and the Leadership Team in response to report requests.
  5. Oversees and manages the daily workload of Data Analysts in the Data Integrity Unit.
  6. Reviews and monitors team and individual progress towards section goals.
  7. Develops and implements training for new Data Analysts.
  8. Develops and implements training modules for new staff and provides regular re-training in regards to data integrity.
  9. Takes the lead on the more technically challenging projects assigned by Data Integrity Manager.
  10. Continually works on converting as much of the DI reporting portfolio into an automated format on Tableau.
  11. Assists the Data Integrity Manager to improve the technical knowledge and practices of the Data Analysts.
  12. Prepares routine and ad hoc RSC statistical reports as needed for various RSC staff and implementing partners e.g. US Embassy Refugee Coordinator, UNHCR, and IOM.
  13. Prepares and automates regular sectional quality control reports in Tableau to ensure data accuracy and identify training needs.
  14. Works closely with the DI and Programs staff to identify training needs at the RSC.
  15. Coordinates and oversees -annual inter-departmental process review and recommends improvements in quality control.
  16. Maintains a current understanding and keeps abreast of any updates of RSC SOPs.
  17. Works closely with RPC staff on issues related to START data fixes and deployed new releases.
  18. Works closely with Programs staff to ensure that they have the necessary tools to enable their departmental output to meet RSC quality standards and adhere to USRAP processing guidelines.
  19. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Six (6) years paid work experience is required.
  • Six (6) months of working experience as a Reports Analyst is preferred.
  • One (1) year of direct supervisory experience is required.
  • Previous working experience with the START database is a must.
  • Twelve (12) months of working experience with the tableau a must.

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge in TRANSACT SQL required
  • Queries, stored procedures, views and functions Microsoft SQL Server database design required
  • Knowledge and Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 in the context of SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Advanced computer knowledge, specifically with MS Outlook, MS Excel or other statistical analysis programs required.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required (or 4 years of work experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree)

  • Supervise staff to ensure policies and procedures are implemented and executed in accordance with guidelines and standard operating procedures;
  • Maintain a high performance standard with attention to detail, completing tasks within set timeframes;
  • Exercise good judgement and seek guidance as appropriate when confronted with unanticipated problems;
  • Deal effectively and courteously with a large number of associates, outside agencies, refugees and members of the general public;

  • Actively participate in the implementation of the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP).

Special Requirements:

  • COVID Vaccination is strongly recommended for all successful candidates
  • The candidate should be of good health, willing and able to travel extensively in often difficult conditions, and have a high degree of flexibility. Must have proof of Yellow Fever vaccination before traveling for RSC Africa
  • This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya
  • This position requires use of laptops at all time, competence in Microsoft office packages is required.
  • This position may require travel in sub-Saharan Africa on short notice and under sometimes difficult conditions to meet demands of a dynamic operational program
  • Background check which includes references and an educational and criminal check is required before the start of employment
  • A valid passport and the ability to maintain a valid passport throughout the entire appointment is required, which includes having enough passport pages for travel.
  • Physical: This position requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, pushing/pulling, handling objects (manual dexterity), reaching above shoulder level, using fine finger movements and lifting/carrying heavy loads.
  • Environmental: Incumbents in this position will be exposed to excessive noise, marked changes in temperature and/or humidity, dust and infectious diseases, harsh weather climates, long work hours, bumpy roads, extended travel, excessive sun exposure, and non-ventilated spaces.
