The Credit Risk Analyst will be placed in the Credit Risk Methodologies Division, which is responsible for developing and applying the methods used in measuring and assessing credit risk at Group level as well as for submitting updates to the competent Committees of the Bank and of the Group Companies. The aforementioned Division also develops the credit risk models used in impairment testing at Group level, in accordance with the International Accounting Standards.

The ideal candidate should possess problem-solving and analytical skills along with sound judgment and critical thinking and should have the ability to communicate advanced concepts in a concise and logical way. This role will suit candidates who thrive on delivering results in a fast-paced environment where their work has a high impact.

What you will be doing

  • Analyzing credit risk models’ specification documents and translating them into functional specifications for the purpose of system deployment in the Moody’s Credit Lens.
  • Analyzing published financial statements and income statements and interpreting the respective financial results through fundamental analysis’ principles and metrics (i.e. financial ratios and cash flow analysis, etc.).
  • Performing process and advanced analysis of structured databases regarding credit assessment data with the use of advanced analytical tools.
  • Carrying out regular reviews and updates of the system documentation (user guides, policy documents, etc.).
  • Deploying credit risk models in the IT Systems of the Bank and performing User Acceptance Tests.
  • Reporting on key indicators of the rating process and on the use of credit risk models.

What you need to have

  • A Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline, e.g. in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science or in a related subject, which must have been completed upon employment.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience in credit risk models deployment and in the fundamental analysis context.
  • Expertise/strong experience in the following areas will be considered an asset:

> Use of analytics tools such as SAS, SPSS Modeler/SPSS Statistics.

> Procedural and imperative programming languages (e.g. SQL, PL/SQL,T-SQL etc.) and use of databases.

> Coding skills in the programming scripting languages R and Python.

  • Agile project/product development employing DevOps practices (e.g. automated testing).
  • Project management skills coupled with strong business acumen in terms of comprehending the business and operational impact of risk management decisions.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken).
