COVID-19 Mobile Clinic Coordinator

This is a limited duration, part-time position.

As member of the mobile COVID-19 clinic team, the Mobile Clinic Coordinator works with a team of healthcare professionals at mobile clinics across hot spot counties within Washington or Oregon states to reach high-risk and underserved populations with prompt COVID-19 vaccines, testing and education. This position provides tailored education to clients on safety and hygiene practices to reduce COVID transmission, and address needs for follow-up and referral to community services. They will adhere to current guidelines and best practices for COVID-19, PPE usage, and hygiene protocols. On occasion, this position may provide back-up for COVID-19 testing and vaccines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure each client receives thorough and culturally appropriate care and education.
  • Ensure that all clients have been thoroughly screened prior to vaccine administration or testing, and all care is accurately documented.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Infection, Prevention and Control measures, policies and procedures, ensures no cross contamination occurs.
  • Perform anterior nasal testing following current CDC guidelines.
  • Conduct patient observation post vaccine administration, ensuring that all clients are observed according to protocol, document any adverse effects as needed and initiate emergency response system in the case of any severe allergic reaction.
  • Follow strict and meticulous donning and doffing procedures.
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste and biohazard following organizations policies.
  • Assist with clinic set-up, tear-down and sanitation under the supervision of the Clinic Manager.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all clients.
  • Able to jump into any clinic role to support staff and volunteers as needed.
  • Prepare and administer vaccines for surge capacity, on occasion.
  • Support safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies.

Other Duties:

  • Utilize volunteers when appropriate.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Active License or certification as an ARNP, EMS Provider, Registered or Certified Medical Assistant, Naturopathic Physician, Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, Pharmacist, Medical Doctor, or Physicians Assistant.
  • Registered to work in the state of OR or WA. Dual licensure a plus.
  • Current BLS-CPR for Healthcare Providers, certification for Blood Borne Pathogens and HIPAA as required by law

EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Minimum 1 year experience working with data entry.
  • Minimum 6 months clinical experience.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a fast-paced healthcare setting preferred but not required
  • Background in public health, health education, nursing, health services or related fields.

  • Proficiency in a language in addition to English, or bilingual (preferred).

  • Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment, under changing conditions.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner to donors, volunteers, and the public.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels, taking into account cultural and language difficulties.
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in a stressful and security sensitive environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Ability to work out of schedule when applicable.
  • Ability to travel to various rural locations.
  • Comfortable assisting the Clinic Manager in troubleshooting technology and accessing programs remotely.
  • Comfortable using technology and moderately skilled with Microsoft Office 365 suite (including Outlook email and calendar), Teams, and/or other electronic health record platforms, as well as vaccine administration and inventory management.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

  • If in travel status, occasional to frequent traversing over rough or steep terrain in either a motor vehicle or on foot.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.
  • The employee may be required to travel to remote areas of the world where there are potential health hazards and risks, limited hygiene facilities, extreme hot or cold weather, and very basic living conditions..
  • There may be a risk of occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM). Hepatitis B vaccination series is required.
