Corporate Communications & Marketing Services Internship

Canon are loking for an enthusatic student to join us this Summer for an exciting industrial placement internship. As a Corporate Communications Industrial Placement student (12 months), you will work as part of the Corporate Communications and Marketing Services team, carrying out a variety of tasks to help implement, monitor and evaluate PR and Social Media activity and to help achieve Marketing, Sales and company objectives.

You will be responsible for monitoring Canon UK daily press clippings and circulating positive press coverage and flagging any negative press coverage or issues.

Part of the role will be to manage the Press Office and Sponsorship inboxes, fielding the many enquiries we receive and providing a timely response to the media. Assisting the press with their requests for consumer product loans to generate media coverage.

You’ll handle dedicated projects with niche and specialist media, following a brief and managing the process with support of the PR and/or Social Media Professionals.

Within the role you will be providing support and helping manage UK Press events and product launches and responding to sponsorship requests. Liaising with PR, social media, advertising and other external agencies.

Keeping internal stakeholders up to date with key projects and news stories.

Drafting local press releases as well as supporting with social media editorial calendars. Identifying influencers and influencer relations. Supporting internal communications with weekly newsletters and intranet updates.

Supporting Canon at events, including trade shows, experiential activity and other campaign/PR based events.

What We Ask

You must have a good understanding of the following

• MS Office including Excel
• A good understanding of PR, advertising and social media
• Excellent communication skills
• Good flair of written and spoken English
• An undergraduate student who is on a sandwich course

You will need

With your excellent planning and organisational skills, you will be results focused and have the drive and enthusiasm to meet deadlines while working on multiple projects.
