Consultancy – Experimental economy and the construction of social norms; workshops with CSO and communities

WWF-Myanmar is now inviting applications for the Consultant for Experimental economy and the construction of social norms; workshops with CSO and communities who will be worked workingstarting for three months with home-based. from end of March to June 2022 with frequent field visits across Myanmar especially in Yangon, Mandalay and Ayeyarwaddy regions.

Objectives of the consultancy

The purpose of the consultancy is to develop two workshops and one follow-up session that use experimental economic concepts to discuss the roles of cooperation, competition, natural resources, and public goods, and how to work with communities to co-design inclusive social norms that can improve their livelihoods and the conservation of the environment.

The first workshop should be implemented in a community and in that workshop, community leaders, as well as other influential members of the community, will develop several experimental economic games and use them as a basis for discussion about the creation of cooperative social norms. The second workshop should be implemented with local CSOs. In contrast to the first workshop, this second one is designed as a ToT, in which the consultancy will discuss with the CSOs the best practices on how the CSOs can replicate this exercise in other communities.

Major Responsibilities:

To discuss with local communities and leaders, using experimental economic concepts, the roles of cooperation, competition, natural resources, and public goods, and how to co-design inclusive social norms that can improve their livelihoods and the conservation of the environment.
