Purpose/objective of the position:

The consultants’ main role will be to identify and train girls and women (about 60 beneficiaries in total including women and girls (so approximately 10 persons per one month and 15 days) in the shelter of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah. The training would serve the beneficiaries to develop competencies in IT management, applying practical advises, it will give them skills to be integrated in apprenticeships or jobs in IT, applications, programs areas with the skills and qualifications necessary to assist professional and may link them later on to open their own business or be an attractive candidate for an established freelance.

 

BACKGROUND: The rationale behind this consultancy is to train beneficiaries (Refugees, IDPs and host community) to provide them with practices which could support them in finding jobs and creating in demands skills. There will be a division between each group (8 to 10 persons maximum per group).

The aim of this assignment is to improve the overall technical level of the beneficiaries in order to promote the development of a learning environment with necessary IT practices for job insertion for girls and women in particular in those areas of business.

Generic Duties:

  • Designs and teaches various computer courses for women and girls. Creates course outlines and writes instruction and review handouts for each of the different course.
  • Prepares the room and the computers for use before each class; attends to the proper shut-down of computers after classes.
  • Assures that the computer equipment is properly used.
  • Trainer is required to attend and organize training, class sessions and/or events, distribute reading and learning materials, register and fill in attendance sheet of participants, and personnel.
  • A set clear plan for the training considers the dates topics of the training…. etc.
  • Required to provide class as its planned and required by the line manager.
  • Provide feedback about the trainings, classes, events implementations to the line manager.
  • Maintain classroom management within a class of designed number of participants
  • Arrive punctually to trainings and classes and expertly manage time during the course of the learning, trainings, workshops classes to ensure that all aspects of the lessons are delivered. Also, to ensure that the designed curriculum is delivered.
  • Design activities for the participants along with the line manager and considers a clear plan.
  • Contribute feedback to the line manager.
  • Assist the supervisor in tracking the implementations and progress of the works.
  • Maintain flexibility to apply and undertake any other task related the project, and required by the center coordinator and/or line manager.

Specific Duties:

  • Prior experience as a computer teacher/trainer.
  • Excellent presentation abilities.
  • Strong written and administrative skills.
  • Passionate about fostering computer literacy and academic excellence.
  • Preparation of documents during training sessions (attendance sheet, pre- post test, …. etc.)

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

 

Person Specification:

Education and professional experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related discipline.
  • Teaching certification for the level at which you will be instructing.
