ROLE PURPOSE:
The Community Mobilizer will build relationships between SCI and the community. He or she will be responsible to monitor SCI programmes including psychosocial activities, and put in place Community based Child Protection Mechanisms, build their capacity and provide ongoing support.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
SCOPE OF ROLE:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :
* In collaboration with the CP team the community mobilization officer is expected to develop community mapping tools (to identify Protection Risks and community based mechanisms/services in the targeted areas.
* Oversee the community mapping exercise in the communities in an engaging module for the most marginalized and vulnerable children and adolescents in the targeted communities.
* Coordinate and communicate with the acting stake holders including local authorities in Salah Edin Governorate and Building the capacity of the community and the other stake holders in community mobilization, behaviour changes, and communication for development.
* Support the development of a referral system for children and adults in need of specialized psychosocial services and link them with specialized MHPSS service providers.
* Prepare logistics, reporting and analysis of all trainings and workshops.
* Prepare plans and budgets for all community mobilization activities and tailoring of virtual trainings in emergency situation when the accessibility to the communities and group sessions are hindered.
* Prepare reports with statistical and narrative information on the progress of the community mobilization and the protection programming in the target communities for the supervisor.
* Support the development of the CP campaigns and dissemination of advocacy messages through media and one to one.
* Work closely with the community in formation of child protection, Community Based Protection Networks committees and parent-teacher associations (activation, capacity building, follow up and regular meetings)
* Support the outreach child protection activities and implement sessions to increase community participation through mobile teams of volunteers.
* Ensure that communities are regularly involved in all phases of the programming

QUALIFICATIONS
* Commitment to the mission and values of Save the Children;
* Strong understanding of the situation of the IDP children (girls and boys);
* The ability to think critically and to recommend good solutions to problems.
* Excellent sense of judgment, humour and patience;
* Full Knowledge of the Arabic ; English language skill is an advantage;

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
* Basic education or adequate equivalent work/life experience;
* Experience with community development, working with children and schools;
* Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong Organizational skills;
* Advocacy and coordination skills;
* Ability to conduct outreach at the community level;
* Good computer skills (MS Office, including familiarity with internet).
