Communications Manager for Climate Adaptation Support Activity – US based remote

The USAID-funded Climate Adaptation Support Activity (CASA) project, implemented by Tetra Tech International Development (International Development Jobs – Tetra Tech), is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a Communications Manager. The position can be fully remote from a continental US-based location or hybrid/remote within a commutable distance to either one of our office locations in Burlington, VT or Arlington, VA.

Position Description: The Communications Manager will lead the development of a project-wide communications strategy to share findings, analysis, tools, and information with target audiences. The position will work closely with the Chief of Party and other team members to ensure that project results and deliverables are clearly communicated and compliant using traditional, non-traditional, or mixed media approaches.

Responsibilities:

* Coordinates and supports the development, design, branding, and execution of internal and external communications initiatives to ensure effective communication of program progress, successes, and learning to USAID stakeholders and target audiences.

* Manages and develops program communications materials and products as needed (written, audio, and video), assuring compliance with USAID and Tetra Tech guidelines.

* Supports or leads internal and external project events including webinars, conference participation, and other convenings.

* Develops regular reports and communication products to keep USAID and partners apprised of program activities with project team.

* Supports social and mass media outreach including leading CASA’s presence and interaction with USAID websites such as ClimateLinks and ResilienceLinks.

* Develops communications strategies, products, and tools to disseminate project deliverables and information/analysis.

* Develops graphics to support project analysis and assessments.

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications or a closely related field.

* Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in a similar position.

* Experience developing and targeting communications products towards an international audience, including USAID and other donors.

* Demonstrated experience advertising project activities and results through blogs, newsletters, and other publications.

* Demonstrated experience translating technical reports into less- or non-technical communications products.

* Experience developing graphics, videos, and other media products to communicate key messages either directly or by managing relevant design and production firms.

* Experience supporting webinars, presentations, and other events that disseminate learning and information.

* English fluency is required.

* Current U.S. work authorization is required at the time of application.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Direct experience supporting communications priorities on a USAID-funded contract or cooperative agreement.

* Knowledge of USAID communication channels and communities of practice.

* Experience with climate change information and programming.

* Proficiency in Spanish or French.

Pay Transparency Statement:

We are committed to taking a thoughtful, compliant and equitable approach to employment compensation and rate setting. The anticipated pay range for this position is $60,000 to $100,000 annually.
