Through a collaboration with GOPA Middle East, the SRTF seeks to hire motivated, self-driven individuals to fulfil leading roles of Procurement Associates (m/f/d).

Background:

The Syria Recovery Trust Fund (SRTF) was established for the financing of reconstruction activities to rebuild the country and alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people as a result of the ongoing conflict. The SRTF was created to provide the international community with a vehicle to offer financial support to the National Coalition for responding to the needs of the Syrian people.

The Management Unit (MU) was established to manage the Fund and its allocations to projects addressing reconstruction, recovery, and stabilisation to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people.

Governing bodies of SRTF are:

  • The Steering Board (SB), with frequent meetings two times a year.
  • The Management Committee (MC), meeting every three months.
  • The Director General of SRTF (DG).

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and edit News Items (NIs), Press Releases (PRs), project information sheets (IS), and SRTF website texts in English, covering all programme (Recovery and Stabilisation programmes) updates;
  • Write and edit communication tools including but not limited to flyers, brochures, fact sheets, short video scripts, and success stories for high-quality prints in English;
  • Revise and finalise documents and reports following feedback from management;
  • Write and edit the SRTF’s quarterly newsletter in English incl. the Director General (DG) editorial and other requested content;
  • Assist various team members in drafting annual reports, and reviewing sections’ templates, SOPs, proposals, and other communication-related documents when needed;
  • Write and edit commentary content and inputs for mediums i.e. posts and audio-visuals for dissemination through social media outlets;
  • Draft and edit media briefs, Q&A for media interviews, and Op-Eds;
  • Monitor and maintain the SRTF social media platforms incl. LinkedIn to ensure optimal impact and engagement; Keep them up-to-date with information, photos, and relevant links.

Minimum qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent in a relevant field of communication;
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and further IT programmes necessary for the execution of the tasks;
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Native English speaker;
  • Good working knowledge of web-based media and social networks;
  • Experience working in international organisations relating to the Syrian context.

Additional qualification/ advantage

  • Proficient in Photoshop;
  • Skilled to create compelling designs and videos as part of their role;
  • A good knowledge of the Syrian context.

Soft Skills

  • Detail-oriented, organised, and self-motivated;
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills, even under time pressure;
  • Good time management skills incl. prioritising, scheduling, and adapting as necessary;
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with different objectives simultaneously;
  • Ability and readiness to work in a multicultural environment.
