The researcher will be expected to participate in an initial 2-day training/ orientation with study team members, followed by 3 days of co-interviewing, before conducting the remainder interviews independently over 10 days. Regular feedback and communication with the study team is expected to ensure quality and consistency, and the researcher is expected to make and share fieldnotes pertaining to each interview, that describe the interview process, and include reflections that may later help interpretation of the data.

Data analysis will be led by other members of the study team; however, the researcher will be expected to participate in regular check-ins with the study team as the data is analysed and interpreted and to share their feedback, including via writing in the draft report. This is expected to take no more than 5 days, although it may take place over several weeks or months. Although it is preferred that the researcher transcribe their own interview data, Sightsavers are happy to discuss engaging a third party to conduct this activity, with the researcher checking and assuring the quality of transcripts. Transcription into English has been budgeted for on a per transcript basis and will be a separate activity from those stated above. Please discuss your own preference in your application cover letter.
