Commercial Excellence Associate Internship 2023

Organization Overview

The Commercial Excellence (CE) Center of Expertise (COE) is a global organization that builds commercial capabilities and designs best practices across enterprises to accelerate customer-driven growth. The CE COE operates across seven different priority areas: Route-to-Market Strategy, Customer and Consumer Insights, Strategic Pricing, Digital Customer Experience, Sales Operations and Enablement, Marketing and Brand, and Commercial Talent.

The CE COE puts customers at the center of the way we work. Our goal is to advance a customer-driven culture and help businesses achieve sustainable organic growth in ways that optimize value for our customers. The CE COE responds to market disruption with bold thinking and transformational approaches, leveraging Cargill’s global expertise to drive change cross-enterprise by developing and scaling commercial capabilities and mindsets of the future.

Position Overview

The CE COE Intern works closely with CE COE global leaders and advisors to support development and advancement of global best practices and strategies for commercial capability building. As part of the CE COE, interns will help set the standard for commercial excellence across our businesses and regions, making Cargill better than the sum of its parts by:

  • Energizing the organization and evolving our culture
  • Building next generation commercial capabilities
  • Advancing how we work and grow with customers

The CE COE Intern’s contributions will help Cargill reach new levels of maturity and effectiveness to win in our global markets and with our customers.

Principal Intern Accountabilities

  • Lead a key primary project related to CE initiatives and priorities that will generate near-term and long-term value, and support delivery in line with broad strategic objectives
  • Work with stakeholders across the CE COE and Cargill broadly to identify project inputs and dependencies, refine approaches, synthesize learnings, and develop solutions that deliver strategic value
  • Contribute to one or more secondary projects that support broader CE teams, based on current priorities
  • Actively participate in shadowing opportunities, CE COE learning sessions, and broader internship programming

The CE COE internship is structured to offer value across three priorities:

  • Diversity of Experience: Provide broad variety and exposure across Cargill’s organizations, projects, and people
  • Growth: Allow for meaningful short-term and long-term growth potential through impactful project work, leadership development, and relationship-building
  • Connectivity: Create links for the intern across the CE COE and Cargill, exploring how the broader ecosystem of Cargill organizations, functions, priorities, and people fits together

Our Programming

  • With comprehensive learning resources at your disposal, you can take your learning in any direction.
  • Throughout the internship, interns are invited to weekly events that offer personal and professional development opportunities, including leadership panels with direct exposure to Cargill executives, and the ability to engage with other MBA cross-functional interns across the U.S.
  • Regular CE COE Discovery sessions provide meaningful insight and context into the CE COE as an organization, including its practice, people, and future.
  • As Cargill employees, interns also receive access to volunteer and community outreach opportunities and paid time off for volunteer activities.

Internship Details

  • Internships are paid and are 10 weeks in duration.
  • Interns who demonstrate outstanding performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered a full-time position for the following year.
  • Housing assistance and relocation reimbursement are available to interns who qualify
