Claims Recovery Handler

As a Claims Recovery Handler, you will be responsible for handling specialised non standard, and non-fault claims at the end of the journey and recovering costs via solicitors and third parties. It’s all about keeping the customers fully informed and working to close the claim for the customer to ensure their no claims discount isn’t affected.

As well as providing telephony support, we also have our easy-to-use webchat function. Therefore one week you could be speaking with our customers on the phone and the following week you’re looking after them via chat, all whilst providing the highest standard of service.

This role can be based at our Bexhill-on-Sea office, offering a hybrid approach of office and homeworking. For candidates with strong recovery experience, we can offer this role on a remote working basis.

What will you be doing?

• Joining a specialised recovery team dealing with non-standard recoveries (such as withdrawn indemnity, counter fraud recoveries and anything else that would qualify as non-standard)
• Maintaining portfolio of claims by handling telephone calls, incoming correspondence and managing diary to ensure case is up to date
• Investigating liability where required (phone enquiries, accident report forms, instructing investigators, applying for police reports etc.) and making decisions on liability whether admitting or disputing
• Instructing, under direct, where proceedings are issued and liaising to progress case to settlement or trial
• Processing incoming payments
• Realistic inputting and prompt updating of claims reserves

What are we looking for?

• Recovery experience or strong motor claims knowledge
• Experience with file handling and owning own allocation of work
• Good understanding of indemnity, subrogation, liability and litigation
• Proven track record of problem solving and delivering results
• Good overall IT and data inputting skills
• Cert CII desirable but not essential
