Circular Economy Program Development Specialist

Role Description: The Circular Economy Program Development Specialist will be responsible for advancing the organization’s circular economy initiatives by leveraging their expertise in knowledge management, technical support, and project evaluation. This role will require a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to drive sustainable development and circular economy practices across various projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Knowledge Management:
   • Develop and implement knowledge management strategies to capture, organize, and disseminate best practices and lessons learned in circular economy initiatives.
   • Create and maintain a comprehensive database of resources, case studies, and research findings related to circular economy and sustainable development.
2. Technical Support:
   • Provide expert technical support and guidance to project teams and stakeholders on circular economy practices and principles.
   • Assist in the development of technical documentation, guidelines, and toolkits to support project implementation.
3. Training and Capacity Development:
   • Design and deliver training programs and workshops to build capacity among staff, partners, and stakeholders on circular economy concepts and methodologies.
   • Develop training materials and resources to enhance understanding and application of circular economy principles.
4. Policy Development and Support:
   • Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to support the development and implementation of policies that promote circular economy practices.
   • Advocate for policy changes and provide technical input to support low carbon development and climate resilience.
5. Monitoring and Evaluation:
   • Design and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact of circular economy projects.
   • Conduct regular assessments and prepare reports on project progress, outcomes, and lessons learned.
6. Project Design and Implementation:
   • Lead the design, planning, and execution of circular economy projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate circular economy practices into existing and new projects.
7. Data Analytics and Reporting:
   • Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to analyze project data and generate insights to inform decision-making.
   • Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
8. Communication and Advocacy:

   • Develop and execute communication strategies to raise awareness and promote circular economy initiatives.

   • Represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and other forums to share knowledge and advocate for circular economy practices.

     Qualifications/Requirements:

   • Education/Training:

   • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Economics, Circular Economy, Sustainability, Sustainable Economics, Social Science, Development Studies, Environment, or related fields.

   • Language:

   • Proficiency in Indonesian and English.

   • Professional Experience:

   • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in technical support, training/capacity development, policy development/support, and monitoring and evaluation at both national and international levels.

   • Proven track record in designing, implementing, and evaluating projects that contribute to accelerating the circular economy agenda, supporting low carbon development, and enhancing climate resilience.

   • Strong technical knowledge of circular economy programs and development issues, preferably in a global context.

   • Exceptional data analytics and communication skills.

   • Preferred Criteria:

   • At least 5 years of consultancy experience in the development sector.
