Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Disaster Risk Management or Economics; preferably with an academic background in emergency response.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the implementation and systematization of experiences in emergency response, risk management and cash transfer programs.
  • Work experience in supervising and coordinating positions with international NGO’s, Governmental Organizations, humanitarian aid and private sector in emergency response programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and analysis of logical frameworks and formulation of qualitative and quantitative indicators.
  • Demonstrated ability in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of rural programs and projects, on issues of food security, economic development, climate change, cash transfers, advocacy, gender, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Leadership, motivation, and ability to work with multicultural and multidisciplinary groups.
  • Advanced English language skills, essential.
  • Report writing experience. Writing, and editing skills are essential.
  • Experience working in partnership and institutional networking.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Drive, internet, email.
  • Current four-wheel drive vehicle driver’s license.
  • Availability to travel to the Project implementation area: Panzós, Alta Verapaz.

Main functions:

  • Responsible for the effective programmatic and financial management to achieve the goals and objectives established in the project through the effective coordination of the technical team hired by Mercy Corps Guatemala.
  • Systematize the experience of the implementation of the project to allow the development of an internal methodology, adoption of approaches and evaluation of effectiveness and efficiency in the implementation.
