Job Overview: The Casework Payments and Processing Specialist works directly with community and state partners to ensure payment and data accuracy, troubleshoots payment errors, and provides compliance monitoring. The Casework Payments and Processing Specialist will work across office teams to ensure timely issuance of payments to clients statewide.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Receive list from state program multiple times a month and review for errors and missing information.
  • Communicate with state program about errors and ensure that they are resolved quickly.
  • Create accounts for and assign prepaid cards to new clients and separate them by agency.
  • Create multiple financial requests for client payments and perform upload of cash to cards once request is approved.
  • Track all payments made to every client and agency.
  • Report payments made to the state program in a timely manner.
  • Assist clients and outside agencies with blocks, fraud cases, and lost cards.
  • Communicate with financial agency and with IRC headquarters to resolve prepaid card issues.
  • Coordinate with finance team to ensure sufficient cards are available.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education: Undergraduate degree in social work or related field preferred

Work Experience:

  • 2+ years of professional work experience; preferably in a non-profit or social services environment
  • A minimum of one-year direct casework experience
  • Experience working with refugees and/or immigrants or experience working cross-culturally strongly preferred

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English; proficiency in language(s) spoken by IRC’s clients is desired; including Spanish, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Ukrainian, or Russian
  • Ability to prepare accurate and timely reports, document client interactions and services, and maintain updated and accurate case files.
  • Computer proficiency with an emphasis on Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook). Proven experience in web-based data entry systems, with database experience strongly preferred.
  • Highly organized self-starter with proven success prioritizing multiple tasks, making critical decisions, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment with stringent deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, active insurance policy, access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area for home visits, and visits to other agencies or service providers.
  • In accordance with Arizona State Law, must possess or be eligible to receive a fingerprint clearance card.

Working Environment:

  • A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.
  • May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
