 Triangle Génération Humanitaire (TGH) is an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) designing and implementing emergency, post-emergency and development programs since 1994. The programs fall within the fields of water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH), civil engineering (Shelter), food security, rural development (Livelihood), socio-educational and psychosocial support (Protection). In 2021, its committed teams operate in 9 countries in Asia, Africa and Middle-East Region.

 TGH has been working in Iraq since June 2013, providing WASH in schools, winterization distribution, cash for education, Case management and psychosocial support as well as livelihood activities to Syrian refugees and IDPs in KRI. TGH developed its expertise in delivering Child Protection assistance to diplaced, refugee and host children in camp and out-of-camp settings. TGH has been working in the capacity building of the General Directorate of Social Care and Development (GDSCD, more commonly referred to as DoSA / Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MoLSA) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KR-I), the Social Protection Department in Ninewa and a National NGO in the Centre and South of Federal Iraq to strengthen the child protection case management systems.

 The present project “Improving the protective environment for returnees and out-of-camp displaced children and their communities in underserved areas of Ninewa and Sulaymaniyah governorates” The project aims at providing timely, culturally appropriate and gender sensitive child protection (CP) and legal services (GP) to conflict affected communities, while strengthening community-based mechanisms of risks prevention and response..

JOB OBJECTIVE :

The overall objective of the Case Worker is to ensure, under the responsibility of the supervision team, the implementation of activities related to children’s protection, within the frame of the project especially case management.

Case workers fall under the supervision of the Team Leader and technical supervision of the Child Protection Officer.

This position will include trips to rural areas surrounding the work location and is attached to TGH Rabeea sub-office. Trips to Mosul are likely to be organized for staff meetings and trainings.

يخضع العاملون في الحالة لإشراف قائد الفريق والإشراف الفني لمسؤول حماية الطفل.

سيشمل هذا المنصب رحلات إلى المناطق الريفية المحيطة بموقع العمل وملحق بمكتب TGH الفرعي في ربيعة. من المرجح أن يتم تنظيم رحلات إلى الموصل لاجتماعات الموظفين والدورات التدريبية.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

The employee agrees to:

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Responsibility 1: Implements case management and psychosocial activities

• Task 1– Participates in the identification and selection of children at risk, according to standard vulnerability criteria.
• Task 2 – Creates and implement new adapted recreational activities in cooperation with the PSS Facilitator and the Child Protection Officer in order to improve the children’s well being
• Task 3 – Ensures that urgent and challenging cases are immediately discussed with the Child Protection Officer
• Task 4-In line with SOPs (Standard operational procedures), provides case management services to the children identified, and follows all case management steps from identification to closure or transfer, including referrals to specialized services in coordination with the Child Protection Officer.
• Task 5- Advises the parents and raises their awareness on children’s rights and children’s wellbeing.
• Task 6– Ensures coordination and information sharing with the Child Protection Officer, while preserving the confidentiality principle.
• Task 7-Is responsible for the data management of the cases, using the case management tools: documentation of cases, referrals, etc and of the archiving of the files regarding the cases followed in close coordination with the CPO.
• Task 9 – Assures coordination with all relevant stake-holders regarding case management. 

Responsibility 2: Provide awareness and participate in child protection assessment in the targeted locations

• Task 1 – Follows up on the needs in terms of awareness and is proactive in the definition of the awareness program in collaboration with the CPO and PSSF.
• Task 2 – Conducts awareness sessions in collaboration with the PSSF focusing on child protection, Covid-19, GBV,general protection issues and any other relevant topic in the given context.
• Task 3– Participates in conducting child protection assessment, collects and transmits the data relative to the CPO and Team Leader. 

Responsibility 3: Reporting, planning and communication

• Task 1– Participates in weekly meetings regarding the activities of the project.
• Task 2– Provides a weekly activity planning to the Child Protection Officer.
• Task 3- Reports to his/her supervision any development or change of circumstances regarding the context and actors.
• Task 4– Provides daily reports to the Child Protection Officer and Team Leader.
• Task 5– Updates frequently the database with the Child Protection Officer.

Responsibility 4: Translation

• Provides translation, oral and written when needed.

• • المهمة 2 – إنشاء وتنفيذ أنشطة ترفيهية جديدة معدلة بالتعاون مع ميسر PSS ومسؤول حماية الطفل من أجل تحسين رفاهية الأطفال
• • المهمة 3 – التأكد من مناقشة الحالات العاجلة والصعبة على الفور مع مسؤول حماية الطفل

• المهمة 4 – تماشياً مع إجراءات التشغيل الموحدة (SOPs) ، يوفر خدمات إدارة الحالة للأطفال الذين تم تحديدهم ، ويتبع جميع خطوات إدارة الحالة من التحديد إلى الإغلاق أو النقل ، بما في ذلك الإحالات إلى الخدمات المتخصصة بالتنسيق مع مسؤول حماية الطفل

• • المهمة 5 – تقديم المشورة للوالدين وزيادة وعيهم بحقوق الأطفال ورفاهية الأطفال.

• • المهمة 3 – يشارك في إجراء تقييم حماية الطفل ، ويجمع وينقل البيانات المتعلقة بـ CPO وقائد الفريق.

• المسؤولية 3: الإبلاغ والتخطيط والاتصال

• • المهمة 1- يشارك في الاجتماعات الأسبوعية المتعلقة بأنشطة المشروع.
• • المهمة 2 – يوفر تخطيط نشاط أسبوعي لموظف حماية الطفل.
• • المهمة 3 – تقديم تقارير إلى إشرافه / إشرافها عن أي تطور أو تغيير في الظروف المتعلقة بالسياق والجهات الفاعلة.
• • المهمة 4 – يقدم تقارير يومية إلى مسؤول حماية الطفل وقائد الفريق.
• • المهمة 5 – تحديث قاعدة البيانات بشكل متكرر مع مسؤول حماية الطفل.
• المسؤولية 4: الترجمة
• • توفير الترجمة الشفوية والمكتوبة عند الحاجة.

• Proven Case worker experience and/or proven strong experience in PSS and Case management, and relevant Diplomas.
• Proven experience of working on Psychosocial and case management activities.
• Experience in community mobilization and conducting outreach activities.
• Knowledge on Child Protection, Psycho Social Support (PSS), Psychosocial First Aid (PFA), Case Management (CM), Gender Based Violence (GBV) and others.
• Knowledge on Standard Operating Procedures for Child Protection Case Management (SOP) or other official guideline and tools.
• Good capacity to provide active participation and creativity stimulation of the children.
• Good communication and social skills to establish relationships with different communities.
• Computer skills (MS Office).
• Fluency in written and spoken in Arabic.
• Strong organizational and reporting skills.
• Very creative, active, positive and flexible.
• Strongly motivated by humanitarian work.
• Candidate from Rabeea will be prioritised as this position is fully based in Rabeea.

Languages, mandatory: Fluency in written and spoken Arabic. Good communication skills in English is an advantage.
