Chemonics

Chemonics International seeks interested applicants for short-term and long-term positions for the anticipated USAID-funded Iraq Governance and Public Services (IGPS) Activity. The Activity aims to improve service delivery performance through use of technology and process standardization while increasing the availability of and access to information, particularly related to public services. USAID also seeks to foster improved and inclusive relationships and engagement between those same GOI entities and the communities they serve. The goal is more equitable, efficient, and sustainable public services as well as improved government responsiveness to citizens’ needs and demands, contributing to more accountable, transparent, and inclusive governance. Chemonics International Inc. is a US-based international development consulting company, operating in over 95 countries. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Applicants will Support one or more of the following areas:

Subject matter experts and advisors specializing in institutional capacity building, public administration, and public sector service delivery and management; strategic communications and public outreach; and monitoring, evaluation and learning are encouraged to apply. Positions will be based in Iraq, with frequent travel across Iraq anticipated for some positions.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree and experience in a relevant field required
  • Experience designing, implementing, managing, and/or monitoring governance and service delivery programs required
  • Experience implementing similar projects in Iraq and/or the Middle East, strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate fully and effectively, both oral and written, in English is required
  • Arabic and/or Kurdish proficiency is strongly preferred
  • Proven success building capacity of client, counterpart, and/or beneficiary institutions required
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
